  1. I must say the Continental GP 4000s are the most anti glass tire I have ever owned. Their not cheap anymore actually they are insanely expensive !
  2. In Germany they have law's against lights that put out too much oomf! ) JPW#2009-03-27 06:43:38
  3. I won't buy Scott again , esp if you live near the sea, for me the bottom line about Scott is, their fast bikes but they don't last cosmetically . My ex Scott corroded faster than any of the other bike brands I owned.
  4. Saw a few of you this morning at 4 45am out on Philidelphia road. I had my 2 candle lights on my bike JPW#2009-03-26 03:09:36
  5. Silverback vs GT? phew.... Tata vs Toyota
  6. This list made me think . The worst light on this list would be better value than the lights you buy at cycling shops. Heavy and up to 6000 rand for output no higher than 2000lux max. Conclusion lights bought at cycling shops = ripp off http://www.light-reviews.com/reviews.html JPW#2009-03-25 08:35:17
  7. The quality is good tho, the new version XP is out at a crazy cost of around 1k.... potent tho....the standard one can push 150 lux....for a headlamp...that a massive trow of light
  8. Last time I checked the Petzl guys were French
  9. The link http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=166519&highlight=Myo How to mod a XP (value R500) to put out enough power to do hardcore trail riding JPW#2009-03-22 11:29:38
  10. Yea Right! Its recession time! Save the moola and ride 8 speed steel bikes!
  11. Its looks like a set of Tiagra's .... New price is around 1500 rand I think, if its in good nick, umm phew...hard to say, around 400-800 rand dep on condition.
  12. I'll take the Mavic and Giant combo. Giant just seems to be better value than Spec.
  13. All I know is that cwc cycles went bananas with their chain prices....260 to 370 for a xtr chain , thats a big hike in a weeks time. I need to buy up the old stock soon before I cant cycle anymore due to the nutty prices out there!
  14. Just remember: when selling, no one wants a second hand carbon bike (hidden cracks warranty and all that nonsense) so you look at it that way, Litespeed titanium with campag super record will be you best return in value later on, just thinking out loud.
  15. Phew....not me! ) I hate saddle sores!
  16. get a park tool chain checker it works like a bomb, but not replacing a chain when you replace a clusty doesn't make sense.
  17. All the bikes are OK before the Epic and none of them are OK afterward!
  18. The bigger deal in my opinion : The downhill bit, just picture yourself with a mini BMX vs a 29 er, the bigger the wheel the bigger the speed, and the more speed the less control when something goes wrong .
  19. I agree with that theory. But losing too much weight is also not good... George Hincapi would have won the 2005 tour if he didn't lose an extra 6kg before the tour,71kg for a guy 1.89m tall is just too skinny!
  20. I used to believe that a 50k carbon bike would be much faster than a 15k steel bike, I was wrong a bit of info on bike frames that made me think way back when http://www.sheldonbrown.com/frame-materials.html
  21. Just a quick warning to all the good guys out there, esp those big spenders! The depression is comming and its going to be worse than the one that hit the world in the 1930s so, dont buy that silly pinnarello , save the moola!
  22. I don't smaak the easton quality that much, it might be fast but I recon mavic should outlast the rest.
  23. FS saves your body and depending on your age, it would be a great bonus, best cheap FS, giant ....be prepared to spend at least 14k otherwise...HT
  24. its a funny looking bike I must say, made me laugh, I ride a gt too but not with such a slanting topside.
  25. yowzers! I rode a Argus once with 170's nearly died! 170s are what you should use on your track bike.
