  1. Like Skaduwee says, learn to feather the rear brake to stop yourself from flipping over backwards. Once you have that down, there's no limit to how far you can go, or on what slope you need to do it. Maybe start off wearing non-cleated shoes...I've seen more than one wheelie end up in an embarrassed heap with people going off the back with their feet clipped in.
  2. Between Msikaba and Grosvenor, Transkei
  3. Mkambati, Transkei
  4. You a Vet Slowbee? Have been looking for one to support on the SSW area....got a young staffie whose vets bills to date would've been able to support an expensive MTBing habit!
  5. Kiwi what's the price on the stainless On One Chainring?
  6. jayz must've had a good nights sleep, full of beans I see. My Specialized's are by far the most comfortable MTB shoes I have ever owned....seems a great pity the fricking soles are starting to fall off!!!
  7. Currently running a non-tubeless WTB Exi Raptor as (ghetto) tubeless on my 29er ... no problems yet. Had Bontrager Jones UST on my trail bike and had the biggest sidewall blowout I have ever seen or experienced on the rear wheel while "just riding along".... They also had crap grip. Stay away. Replaced the UST Bonty with WTB Wolverines, non UST and running them tubeless...again, no problems to date. I'm keen to try those 2.2 29er Wolverines, MTB KID can you contact me or place a post when you have them available? XTC12009-10-07 02:15:18
  8. I've done one repair on a tire the beading or "tire/rim" interface as you call it using the dental floss / needle and thread / patch / superglue technique and it worked fine.
  9. DUDE!!!! Where do you sit???! Going to do yourself some lovely chafe on that baby.
  10. William at Williams Bike Shop in Somerset West has some guy that did a great job on one of the Kona's in his shop if you want to contact them. I would just go for the bare alumium look if I budget was tight.
  11. G-Spot is built on land leased by the varstiy from town council. Stellies varsity used to use it for some or another of their courses, maybe grazed some donkeys there, who knows, they aren't utilising it anymore. My point is there are LOTS of kids playing there in the veld riding their bikes, people walking dogs, pushing prams, going up the singletrack the wrong way etc etc so be careful to make sure the trail is clear before you start ripping it up because when one of us hits a laaitie playing there on his Y-bike or whatever, riding there will be stopped and then the fun's over for everyone.
  12. Probably a set up problem, not a second of issues with mine to date.
  13. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320412678525&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123 Here's the one I bought. Ended up paying 300 quid for it plus have had to spend a bit of cash this side to get it the way I like it. Awesome bike. Thug speak to me if you want to sell that Peace 9er!
  14. Is the light yellow the "Sand" colour that you recently had in stock? Until which year was the Inbred 29 made in pearl white? This is the model I bought off ebayUK and I was interested in trying to find out approximately how old it could be. The bike previously belonged to Joe "Mint Sauce" Burt from MBUK.
  15. Got the On One Inbred 29" Single Speed with rigid carbon fork and absolutely loving it. My other bikes are green with envy as they have barely been touched since receiving this beast. Rode my trailbike the other day for the first time in a month and two thoughts kept revolving through my head: 1. Wow this dually is awesome and 2. I wish I was riding the 9er instead. One of the Inbred models, I think the Summer is specifically for a longer travel fork as the head angle is slacker to deal with shock compression under braking on the downhills without making the bike twitchy. Also check out the "Ragley" which is the latest creation from On One godfather Brant Richards.
  16. Very lekker, I have an old ATX I have been wanting to convert for a long time...cromoly rigid SS....your bike looks great!
  17. Sitting here Hubbing when I'm on a tight deadline for something I should have finished two hours agoXTC12009-09-15 05:48:58
  18. Buying the wife a new MTB as a gift when finding out she's pregnant?
  19. The original and best! Keith hated eating on an empty stomach.
  20. Two legs. Five bikes.
  21. Search around on the web, not all non tubeless tires should be run as tubeless due to thinner / weaker sidewalls but there's quite wide selection you can use no problem. I have a non-UST WTB Wolverine up front on a Tubeless rim which I run tubeless with Stans and I have not put one iota of air into since converting it months ago. The rear, however, packed in as I was riding it too flat and the rim stuffed up the sidewall. If you are tight on cash, go ghetto tubeless and use a non-UST tire.
  22. Keep your eyes open and replace the shock when a good deal comes your way. The Maestro won't last too long and an RP2 will do just fine as replacement / upgrade.
  23. Sheldon Brown usually has one or two destructive rescues on his website.
