It was awesome to be part of the protest ride, all the way from Cape Town. I met some of the hubbers, and had a good laugh with some of the others..*cough* man.with.long.tongue... The foot in mouth award for the day goes to cervelo: C :"I think the moderators were the worst Hub idea for 2006!" Fatty :"I'm one of them" C : "oh..*gulp*" And I have to vote that TCS has the sexiest girls in their club. Starting with my stoker Chilli_Pepper, to snapshot, WonderWoman and even amoryns (who I managed to pinch!!!)

I raced in VA 30-39 last year, and really enjoyed it. Only one crash between Sun Valley and the foot of Chappies, and I was lucky to be on the outside of the group so avoided it. Probably my most enjoyable "funride world champs" ever

Coming back to this thread. Is anyone actually issued with receipts for the money paid to them? I forgot to ask for one yesterday, and heard from someone else "they post it to you", then you never get it "it got lost in the post", and when you ask for a duplicate "they don't keep copies"... Pardon my ignorance, but isn't it law / legislation to keep financial records for X amount of years? Auditors will have a field day!!

Usually neutral kit is fine, or club kit. CSA's very inconsistent. One day they will fine you for one logo being wrong, or riding with a sleeveless top, and other days they will let Mario Nel ride road champs wearing his SA Champs kit for track racing...rather clear it beforehand...

...why cycling is where it is in SA.... I won't go in to the details, but lets just say my visit to drop 3 licence applications off at CSA offices in Tableview this morning was probably on par with eating at the Spur...no...I've had better customer service at the Spur... It wasn't so much that they needed one piece of info (easily rectified via email), but more the attitude in the smoke filled room. It bordered on this poster: Ok, now I've finished ranting. Lets see if I get my licence any time soon..

Well fatty here grabbed himself a nice Pta girl to ride tandem with for the H2H...and a nice fast TCS member at that! Hopefully I'll get to meet some more of the northern hubbers (and pinch the girls)

I commute and MTB with a helmet with a visor. It keeps the rain out of my eyes on the crappy days...

I also use a old 8speed bike for most of my commuting, and it's around 10 or 11kg's. Not a single piece of carbon fibre in sight. Like RABUBI says, make sure the set up is the same. 8speed chains & clusters are way cheaper than 10speed and you do feel the difference!!
