  1. Don't you people have lives????
  2. I got to ride my club mates System Six....would trade my bike in tomorrow for one. VERY stiff, and a fantastic bike....I'd say go for it!!!
  3. Hey hey....WoooHooo!! Well Done Candice
  4. Well, that's a bit doff..... I've never seen him influence anyone to ride a bike.....even though I don't like him, there is only one man that comes tops in that then and we all know him too well.
  5. Mine's just too sad to even look at at the moment
  6. Ha ha, Nish I think the red gives it a bit more character. CErvelo's are inclined to be a bit boring in colour and design, at least these ones have a bit of character!!!
  7. I'm curious what they mean by most powerful??? There are sprinters and climbers and TTlists....I certainly can't imagine Oscar doing too well in the hills against the pro boytjies.....or in a sprint for that matter, actually can't see it at all ever???? Powerful for one leg maybe yes, but cycling you kinda need two.... Even look at Graham Diesel, he fought for a long time to ride with the able bodied cyclists and he has both legs only missing an arm. Imagine NEVER been able to stand on a bike...have to sprint seated....not that easy!!
  8. Only problem is we'd get bored going so slow and start racing each other
  9. Pretty scary that people are openly discussing murder!!! I wonder what the percentage is of motorcyclists that get killed vs cyclists being killed on the road. Well I don't even have to own a big car, any car will do to now decide that seeing they're attacking me when I'm on my bike, why don't I take my little car and just slightly swerve next time they come flying past me....hmmm, gonna be a lot more damage at 120+ kms / h than me on my bike!!!! Oh but hold on, they probalby ALSO have a family....maybe not though considering life means nothing to them!!! How can another human being actually even think like that???? What makes them more important than the next human being....c'mon!!! I hope you guys read this and actually grow up a bit and realise what you're saying and thinking.....very scary!!!!
  10. I personally love my Scalpel but have nothing to compare it to!! I'd say go shopping with her and give her the choice....
  11. Hmmm, me think I should try get there so I can give Thuggie some grief
  12. Cruzer I think you're worried about nothing. Personally if you're actually out there to race, no matter what ...you WILL have cross the white line sometime. C'mon, everyone has to do it to race. And no, you won't be disqualified, they may disqualify a whole bunch like they did to the poor VA's a year or so back to make a point but unfortunately to race you have to cross the white line so in my opinion as long as you do it with caution don't worry too much about it. And honestly, starting in an open bunch, there's no way they'll DQ you. Maybe in the licenced bunches but not in B-bunch. So don't worry about it...he was just out to pee you off. BTW, how did the race go????
  13. all things being equal' date=' a fit female HR would be 6-10 beats faster than a male counterpart - dont ask me why inactive/unfit, male would be slightly 1/2 beats higher with WW being 21, her max is probably 200+ [/quote'] We're just faster because we have to work harder to do the same pace as a male Me 21....you've just made my day
  14. If you really want to train "properly" I think you should get it tested... Hope you aren't scared of needles Eina, halfway up only....must have killed you!!
  15. Bos, as far as I know, the only way to really test your LT would be to do blood tests in a controlled environment. But to answer the question stated in the heading....in my honest opinion, you cannot sit at max HR at all. You'll reach it and as you do you'll be sick and forced to slow down or stop.
  16. Max, I have no idea. Have taken it up to 193 in a sprint finish before and thought I was going to die afterwards. So probably just under 200.
  17. I sit just below 180bpm in TT....quite a bit of a difference...but yip, as soon as I go over 180, then I get myself in trouble.
  18. "submaximal effort, not anaerobic!!" there's a huge difference between lactate threshold = when you go into anaerobic and maximum!! I sat an hour over my Lactate threshold in a race saturday....I TT over my lactate threshold....don't you??? Maybe I'm just really good at vastbyting then And I've had different people do the tests with exactly the same results so 170bpm is definitely my lactate threshold.
  19. Haven't read all the answers but in truth, when you reach your max HR you'll bring up, so you can't hold anytime at you max as far as I know. Besides, when training it's not your max HR you want to know, it's your lactate Threshold HR... Your age actually has nothing to do with max HR, everyone is different. I know some people who are at lactate threshold at 150bpm and others at 190bmp and they're the same age and perform pretty much the same as well.
  20. Ha ha ha, my saddle doesn't have a quick release so certainly aint gonna happen!!! Then again, I'm a simple MTBer!!
  21. Hey, I was going to get shorts with a hand like that, that said, push here
  22. You'd think after three weeks he'd want a break from the bike....maybe he's missing his MTB!!!
