  1. You can get the bearing kit and axle for xtr from buycycle for R350 per side.
  2. And there is virtually no difference in weight. The xtr race ones are 310g and xt race are 343g. The xtr trail are 398g and the xt trail are 408g. So actually not worth spending that extra money for 33grams in the race pedals and 10 in the trail ones.
  3. I agree with this. I know someone who got the 2014 scale 910 for R30 000. Not sure where from. Ask around and try get a special deal.
  4. And how was the spark premium?
  5. Look at kcnc scandium seatpost, the sc-bone and their light stem (not sure which one. You should be able to save about 500g.
  6. check the rear drop outs where the axle sits. I've seen scott scale carbon bikes with qr rear that the drop out has ground away from the axle sitting in there and coming a bit loose and moving around.
  7. Good options. I would steer clear of the race golds, and even the crests at 90kg. The crests are rated at 85kg max and the golds are about 75kg. My father is 72kg and has bent a set of race golds. He's now on crests and they are ok for him. I would say that if the OP is looking at ztr at all, look at the arch ex's.
  8. Dude, we should be thanking you for bringing this to our attention. Sorry that it cost you money. But huge respect for your character here. Now let's hope you get your refund
  9. Where did you buy it? Cycle science? I suggest finding the registered importers on marcello's website and taking it to them to inspect. Hope its just lost the sticker

PaintBall on bicycles could be quite fun. Have an open track with some obstacles to hide behind Edit: off topic - replying to madlight

    Pepper Spray

Swat is the best I've seen. I've been in a situation when someone used it on a crowd fight. I got a whiff of it. Had me coughing like mad. Really rough stuff. Got it from yale security
  12. I have been using specialized sport mtb shoes for 4 years. Very comfortable and stiff for a plastic sole. Obviously not as stiff as carbon soles. Been very happy with them but are starting to show signs of wear and tear
  13. I stop at every red light because as it has been mentioned, I can't complain if I'm breaking the rules. But what I do is stop in the middle of the lane and make eye contact with surrounding cars so they see I'm there. I haven't had problems yet (once or twice motorist screams past over white line overtaking me but I would rather be annoying than injured by someone who didn't see me).
  14. Windguru reckons. South easter of 34 kph at 11 with 40 kph gusts. Should be a fun race. Ill be on my mtb with slicks so will be a long one.

    Wyatt Earp

Condolences to you and your family Wyatt.
  18. Has anyone on the hub won anything yet from scott?
  19. Just got a new saddle for my mtb. Replacing my old scott road saddle.
  20. Look for the scott scale 29er. Its their racing type frame. The 2013. And 2014 top alloy frame is the scale 940. Not sure of the weight of the frame. Don't go for the aspect frames. They are not as light as the scales.
  21. What about the scott alu hard tails. They are usually pretty light (I think).
  22. Thanks a Lot
  23. Hi guys. I'm busy looking for a headset for my father's R2 but I'm not sure what to get. It has a ritchey headset in now but not sure which model. Does anyone know? And what alternatives are available that will fit? Thanks
  24. What about the darkhorse 38 mm clincher? 1300grams for the set and less than R 9000
  25. We (my parents and my brother and myself) used to do a lot of fly fishing up near dulstroom (syndicate on a farm). We used to go once every seven weeks. Awesome trout fishing (me, my brother and father would regularly land more than 10 trout a weekend each). we would release almost all, and keep maybe 2. Recently with me and my brother in varsity, we don't go up as often (haven't been this year). I've been fishing since 7 or 8, got my first rod at 10 (8 foot 6, 3-4 weight, and first fish was a 2kg trout (took me a good 10 to 15 minutes to get it in).
