Hi guys. I'm busy looking for a headset for my father's R2 but I'm not sure what to get. It has a ritchey headset in now but not sure which model. Does anyone know? And what alternatives are available that will fit? Thanks

What about the darkhorse 38 mm clincher? 1300grams for the set and less than R 9000

We (my parents and my brother and myself) used to do a lot of fly fishing up near dulstroom (syndicate on a farm). We used to go once every seven weeks. Awesome trout fishing (me, my brother and father would regularly land more than 10 trout a weekend each). we would release almost all, and keep maybe 2. Recently with me and my brother in varsity, we don't go up as often (haven't been this year). I've been fishing since 7 or 8, got my first rod at 10 (8 foot 6, 3-4 weight, and first fish was a 2kg trout (took me a good 10 to 15 minutes to get it in).

What about buying one of those small adapters from presta to shraeder and then buy the midas digital guage - I think mine was less than R100. Probably will be cheaper and then you can use on your cars

for low weight I hear the DarkHorse wheels are light (1250g for a 38mm clincher, 1300g for a 50mm clincher, and 1180g for a 50mm tubby). And they are very reasonable prices (I think below R 10 000) Edit: and they look pretty good as well

I use the Lezyne v-10 multi tool. One of the lightest and compact 10 piece sets around - works well for me.

I carry a spare link. Very good spare to carry. But only truly effective with a chain-breaker (to break the broken chain to fit the link. It is not a stupid question, very valid one

We use the Motorex bike Grease 2000 - Seems to work great *Edit* It is good at quieting the Avid brakes down...

I don't think he means putting the tire on the rim. I think its the seating that's the problem. We have had problems seating my father's tires onto the syncros wheels - we use specialized tires - the tires go very easily onto the rim, and we need to use either a compressor or CO2 bomb to get the tire to seat. don't have the same problem getting the same specialized tires onto stan's wheels - so must be the Syncros rims I have the same problem with my dt swiss 445d rims on my specialized rockhopper - the Specialized tires go on easily (don't need tire leavers) and need a very sharp blast of air to get it to seat. Try having someone lightly pulling the tire outwards, to try to guide the bead of the tire onto the lip of the rim, while you are pumping.

well the scale 900 sl is 8.2 kg, so this will be below 8

I use the specialized ones. They are nice and stiff when new. Have used them for 2 years. But broke one when I crashed and hit it with my knee. But no problems otherwise But also, some bottle shapes fit better than the others with the specialized

Ito multitool I have the lezyne sv-10. It is very nice and compact for 10 tools including chainbreaker. It is also light (about 100G) Edit: I have the V-10

I had the same thing on my sid - rubbing on the lowers. Got a wheelbuilder to re-dish wheel for fork - no problems since

Well In Kenilworth I have used Crown Cycles and they have been good. Haven't had issues 5 months down the line. Haven't been to bike shops in Durbanville so not sure

I would be quite worried about the last picture. Would worry about that clamp and mountain biking. Not sure if it will be strong enough...
