  1. As far as I know, there's no more team reward. Replaced with surprise rewards. 3x goals in a row will get you a surprise reward.

    Hobbies

Enjoy flyfishing, do a fair bit of target shooting and clay pigeon shooting. Getting into kite flying (not kite surfing yet) - not the easiest in JHB but on the beach on holiday
  3. Thanks for the Tip. Will try in a Mokka Pot.
  4. Made an awesome cuppacino this morning. Black Insomnia beans ground with Rhino compact handgrinder. Used an Aeropress with Able standard metal filter. Really enjoying the Aeropress with the Able filters.
  5. Awesome fun riding at the Scott Test Day. The new bikes are seriously impressive. Tested out 2017 Scott Spark RC Pro, Spark 910 920 and Genius 720 Plus. The RC Pro is very light and quick. The new 910 and 920 Sparks were great fun to ride. And the Genius 720 Plus was seriously impressive. The 2.8 tires had crazy grip. Thanks to Scott for a great test day. Now to look at my finances...
  6. Hi guys. Haven't found much info on the net regarding this so was wondering if anyone here has an answer. I have a discovery medical aid, with Vitality. I havent signed up for a gym yet. I hear that the Sports Science Institute in Cape town is affiliated with Discovery, with membership for sports science being Discounted. Do the same rules for Virgin Active/planet fitness apply for sports science, I.e. 100points for going to gym etc. In addition, does the gym booster benefit also apply (the up to 100% discount for meeting goals) If this is correct, would Sports Science be a better option than Virgin Active in Claremont.
  7. yup that's the one. Been open for about 2 weeks now.
  8. no sorry. the slip is at my flat. will send name when i get back but may be a while
  9. I bought a set of craft elite bibs from a new shop in access park kenilworth. Some good opening specials specials there. The elites were R 500 each. They also stock MET helmets.
  10. I've also got these pedals. They are really great. Just watch those edges on the outside of them when you put your foot out. They are rather sharp - i have a few cuts on my legs from them. They have been rounded off on some rocks so not so sharp any more. But otherwise great pedals.
  11. I can echo the same regarding the tops, great quality for the price, good fit. However haven't tried any of the bibs.
  12. New XT brakes from Chris Willemse Cycles - awesome special at R 2000 for the set. And got an XT Rotor for R 400. Awesome Birthday present from parents
  13. a 5 or 7 degree rise will make almost no difference to the height of the bars at 70 mm. If my maths are correct, there will be a 1.2mm height difference at 70 mm going up to a 7 degree rise. At 7 degrees i would look at the Funn Stryge stem from performance bikes. R 290 for (in my opinion) a good looking stem
  14. I've been using asics trabuco trail shoes for a couple of years. Very comfortable shoes and they fit me perfectly. Its obviously a personal choice - see which shoe fits your feet the best and go from there. go to a good shop like the Sweat Shop.
  15. New Bar and Stem from Performance Bikes Funn FlameOn Bar - 710mm flat bar with 9 degree backsweep Funn Stryge Stem - 80 mm with 7 degree rise
  16. Specialized captain control on the back with a ground control up front. I've had no problems with this combo on my 26er
  17. 2011 Specialized Rockhopper Sl. Slx and Xt groupset with Dt 445d rims on specialized hubs, Juicy 3 SL brakes and 2010 SID XX fork. Lots of fun. After a bit of a muddy ride. Don't have better pics at the moment.
  18. Ok thanks. Then to answer OP - if he is considering doing races where a map is needed - rather go 500 or 510 in case. Edit: it seems you can actually import maps (according to crimson wolf).
  19. Can the garmin 200 be used for races that are self-navigation, e.g. The dusi2C?

Ok well then my mistake. I have only used the standard shimano ones. I just thought that there would be a problem with stuff sticking into them.

I'm concerned with those hollow ones. You could potentially catch a stick in them and it could break them. I think they are designed mainly for road cycling.
  22. Ground control 2.1 is only 45 grams more than the 2.0 fast trak (in 26inch). I would look at getting 2 ground controls (I feel more in control with more grip at the back)
  23. The grid is quite a lot heavier than the control which is only a bit heavier than the s-works. The grid is a stronger tire but I've never had problems with the controls.
  24. Ground control has good grip for the front. But be careful of the s-works versions - very soft sidewalls - I know quite a few people who have torn the sidewall easily. You don't really need the grid for the ground control. I've been using captain control 2bliss for 2 years. Changed to 2.1 ground control. No problems so far. Good tires.
  25. What about the relaunched scott addict. The top frame was the lightest mass produced frame around. Less than 1 kilo for frame and fork.
