  1. Nice video. you can see his time in SA is paying off. He has Braai's and not BBQ's that cool.
  2. I am looking for old cassettes and chain rings. broken ones.
  3. You go boys, we have the talent and they are not the first SA guys to ride so they must know that they are more than capable.
  4. It would be a huge thing if Daniel could keep the Jersey to the end. go boys.
  5. Technology is coming and coming fast. I am reminded of a saying in a movie "Build it and they will come". bring technology and it will be used, I am one for technology and advancement. all mechanical things are changing to electronic. there are many examples. for me I will change as soon as I have the cash. charging batteries is the least of my worries. I play another sport that is mechanical dominated but there is one manufacturer who has changed to electronic and I love it. (rifle trigger, from mechanical to electronic)
  6. Ariane Kleinhans would not be riding with Cherise Stander if she did not think that she was good enough. Top 20 for day one proves the talent. I think that Cherise Stander is pushing hard and learning lots, watch her grow from here.
  7. Whilst I did not finish. I take my hat off to all of those that did. I might be back next year to concur this thing.
  8. Seriously good news well done guys, I will be screaming at the TV come July.
  9. I don't think so, it is part of their prize! I don't think that it would be forced on the riders to wear them the next day.
  10. I cant comment on the Vipa. I have a Scott 910 and I am loving it. the only thing that bugs me is the Press Fit BB, kuk to change or service.
  11. What shipping did you guys use? I don't like getting things posted in without a tracking number?
  12. this is like Tim Noakes on wheel sizes. hehehehe, as long as I have my bike I am happy.
  13. No I disagree. yes the weight is further away from the center with a 29er. the difference is that the rotating surface is also bigger on a 29er. the point is that the 26er would have to accelerate and turn faster to cover the same ground in the same time as a 29er. therefore if the cones were of different sizes the experiment might be different. the point is that the larger the wheel the slower it can turn to reach the same distance in the same time that it would take a smaller wheel turning faster. the 26 would have to be faster and have higher acceleration to maintain the same pace as a 29. I do not know which one would be better just that it would be an interesting experiment to see.
  14. that experiment shows nothing between 26" and 29". what it shows is that weight further away from the center accelerates slower that's all. if they wanted to show the difference between the two, the weights need to be in the same place, give or take a millimeter for the difference in weight, and the cones need to be of different sizes eg: 2.6" and 2.9". only then can you say that the smaller or larger cone is faster.
  15. I purchased one from TBR Engineering in CTN. R400 They have stock.
  16. put the tools in your shirt pockets. NEVER will I do that. I have come off and landed on my back with a tire lever looking like a third appendage when I stood up. it caused more damage than the actual fall. I have a bag and there is no cling clong.
  17. use this as an example. http://www.kreuzotter.de/english/espeed.htm enter the details and if you have the same speed you will see that the watts goes up. I entered my details and to go from flat to 10% at 20Km/h the watts go from 95 to 715. you could enter every angle and speed variation and get some chart with the watts on that you could look at.
  18. To work out watts for a % gradient you would have to maintain the same speed and cadence up the hill as you would on the flat, the higher the % gradient the higher watts need to be to maintain the speed. you can maintain the same watts from the flat onto the % climb, by doing this your speed will drop. there is no factor to work this out as you are the factor. if you can always maintain the same speed and cadence no matter how high the % goes then yes you can work out a factor but as long as you cant maintain this then there is no way to calculate a factor.
  19. The number boards have an RFID sticker placed inside the board. When you cross the line the Reader, often placed above you, picks up the RFID sticker. this works the same way as the old floor mats. Time is taken from when you cross the line to start and stops again when you cross the line to finish.
  20. Ordered and paid yesterday, and the adapter is on my desk in JHB, Thank you to Tim.

    Bike Transfer

Hi all. I am sure that this has been discussed. I have tried the search function without success. I am looking for any ideas who or how to get my bike down to a stage race? is there a courier company that does this? Thanks
