  1. AFAIK it is the colour only
  2. The system should be set up to a point that you place your order and only once stock is checked you get the link and invoice to make payment. that way no stock no payment no refunds. the only thing is that we would have to wait an extra day to egt our goods. i dont mind waiting an extra day. my last two online orders with other companies have both been no stock after there was stock shown.
  3. Thanks guys. YES it is supposed to be full XT but i did not look personlay i took the salesmans word.
  4. i am trying to justify a buy from Booth's. can someone give me a comparison to an available 29 full sus carbon that can be bought from a LBS. i can get a Scott spark 920 full XT for +-R30K, which is less than Booth's. so in my logic says that the Chinese frame has to be better as the components are on par??
  5. Doing my first stage race, the 2 day to get going and maybe have the bug bite me to do more.
  6. Blue does not fit with my red and black theme. maybe spey paint?? would need a coat every wash or so. lol, ill just have to wait for now.
  7. All local stocks gone. i ordered the Red from Buycycle and was now told "out of stock" i had a look at EVO and also out of stock in red and black. What is a guys supposed to do. Maybe E-Bay will save the day?
  8. www.carbon29.com SA site that does it all for you.
  9. Two ocecans is far but if you are training for the longer run then 2 weeks recovery is ok. no long runs or multiple runs during the recovery just a short run or two. IMO
  10. Hi All. just to throw a spanner in the works. why would it if any be an advantage to change from 3x9 speed to 1x10 if i could go streight to 1x9 with a 11-39 cassette? the ratios will be there and there will be less cash? http://www.actiontec.us/ticog.htm
  11. yellow would be better. why not have a replica Yellow made and have it signed. that would be worth the 10K. I would never give up the original Yellow.
  12. use these guys they specialise is shipping to SA. http://www.postbox-courier.com/index.php
  13. its a seriously challenging route. i am not a skiny snake so it took me a bucket load of effort to finish. avg heart rate 175bpm. 20 min faster than last year with a good 20min of waiting and fixing things on route so i am pleased. the long single track in the second 20Km was good. anyone know were the results are? not on ASG website yet
  14. Well done. i hope that this run will be edited onto the end of the video.
  15. Full Sus mag is free on issue, the content is also good.
  16. Thelma 2. this is the one that i have, its the best i have seen. nothing touches your frame!!!! it holds your front wheel. its te best value for your money. http://www.bicyclepower.co.za/Products/SarisCycleRacks/tabid/110/ProductID/7/Default.aspx
  17. They could look at it the same way road running is conducted. if you belong to CSA you get a number board for the year of your licence, if you renew next year you keep your race number. at race reg on the day you can get your day licence and day race number board. this way the race organisers will always get the day licence fee. if you forget your board you par for a day licence fee. ill pay an extra R100 to CSA for a permanent licence board
  18. Wyatt Earp. I agree with you 100% i did the red stone 40Km last year and finished last. this year i did the 20Km and finished top 30, the realisation came when i doubled my time and add on 20min for the distance i would have imporved my time from last year but i still would have finnished in the last 10 riders. i am not saying that i am in the top guys by no means. what i am saying is that if you put in effort you can clime the ladder. yes once you are getting near the top of a certain level and there is a higher level then you need to make the jump and improve again. you can only say that you are on top, when you have competed on the world stage and proved it, but untill you have, you can only push more. i am an old bugger for this game so i decided that the shorter faster rides is what i am happy doing, i am not after pro status anymore. i have my name in the great book so i have made my mark on the world. for me its about fun and pushing my own limits. enough about me. my point was that if your goal is to be on top, then you can get there with work and lots of it. speak to and listen to anyone that will talk to you. i heard a saying the other day that made sense to me. "If you want something bad enough to stop breathing for it, you will get it" work work work thats all it takes.
  19. Spiderkzn. keep on with the strength training. i started riding mtb in january last year. i strated gym training, weight training twice a week with spinning and a ride over the weekends. i have managed to cut my times down on last years races by a huge margine. eg March Hare 30Km dropped from 1:45 to 1:15. northans quickie 20Km dropped from 1:40 to 1:10 i am now fininshing top +-60 on a consistant basis. yes weight playes a big role in uphills and muscle weighs more than fat. but with more muscle your power to weight ratio improves. and unless you are going to be paid to ride i would rather do full body workouts over just legs. in another sport it took me 5 years to compete at the top level and earn my Protea colours. blood sweat and tears is what it will take to get to your goals. follow NIKE and "JUST DO IT". keep us updated to your progress.
  20. Hi all. just my 2c worth. i "play" another sport as well. i have been through the physical testing and its no joke the lengths taken to make sure the samples are correct and all info is correct. i was asked if i was on any medication or had taken any medication over the past 6 months. i was lucky that i had not. its important to remember these things and give all the info needed. if you were sick or had an injury were you were give meds for its important to state it when you have the tests, this covers your ass. remember this for all the people who have never been tested before. the point to all of this, who out of the pack riders have ever told the doc that you might get tested so we need clean drugs?? WHO i can bet that maybe 1 or 2 at most have asked the doc for clean meds. this is were us mear mortals will fall short if we are tested. You will be bust if you take the wrong over the counter cough meds etc now that is your fault for not ready the anti dugs paper and knowing what is allowed and what is not. Who reads that stuff? it is not for us to shun other riders especialy those that are not competing for the top places and prizes as we dont know their situations before the race, injury / cold etc. i do think that there will always be the people who will push the boundaries with drugs or even with GU to ride better faster longer. if GU helps you to ride better faster longer is it also not a performance enhancing substance? if not then why take it.
  21. I share his birthday, yippy yippy
