Azza id still recommend going out and buying a headset of better quality. Mixing parts might work for now but the headset is still more likely to have problems later on.

Due to the risk of breakage on my phone i opted for a cheap Samsung pocket phone. This gives me strava or any other andriod based app and it fits nicely into bank baggie. Since i got it for really cheap dont mind much where i put it. Mostly i ride with it in back pocket.

I would not powder coat a wheel that is assembled. The changes in temperature is bound to cause some warping.

If i had to pick id look at the Silverback first. Reason being they have lifetime frame warranty. Dont know about the others GT Zaskar i have seen and its a sexy bike. Momsen for extra 1.5k will be drawing factor for me as the specs are much better. This all said goto LBS and try them out before you buy. Its alot of cash and Your the one thats gonna have to live with spending the cash. From posts looks like GT already has its seeds planted

I use a red flasher rear light. its a cheap checkers special. that said its heavy and ugly. however it is bright in dark and kept me safe for last year. id say money well spent and R20-50 when i say cheap.

I DIY till i either dont have tool or cant figure out whats wrong. However ill try doing everything once i have tools. Mechanics are the same as cars in my opinion your gonna get great ones and your gonna get the others and great ones will be worth going to when you cant do it yourself.

i have done this once since i started cycling. Besides it being nice when straight road ahead. Navigating the corners with oncoming traffic and other cyclists was not pleasant in the least. Then u take into account that the pedestrians walking cant hear or see you over traffic noise. I immediately said never again. Also told friend that insisted on it never again. My 2c

I think concerning yourself with him wearing a helmet should be more about maintaining the sport as it is. Its not long and he falls breaks the egg. Following his injuries the family feels the land owners are responsible for thier unsafe trails. Thus the horrid story starts where trails close or become kiddies circle route's. This is to be avoided in my opinion following rules set out just maintains the good name of the sport. Guys like that should be called out. My 2c

Correct tools and lots of pictures. Also have internet handy as sometimes some guides help with specific reassembly or dissasembly foot falls. Also take it one piece at a time otherwise too many little pieces become a problem. Enjoy the beer and be ready for all day cleaning the bike.

I am reasonably new to Cycling in general. Started Earlier in the year with my father to train for IM in future sometime. Since we started everyone we pass we greet. Sometimes there aint no breath and a head nod is all thats left. Even had times where thats not even possible. However since starting I greet walkers, workers, MTB, Road or gate guards. Usualy we get friendly respones but if we dont well to bad. Greeting someone takes nothing away from you and might just make someone else think Hell world is still a nice place. My 2c.

That bike looks like its going to deploy spikes and other sharp objects at any moment..... Awsome
