  1. In my limited experience, this all makes sense to me. I'm at the point now where I'm kind of happy with the fork, maybe its getting more supple with a few miles. Speed does make it feel better, although there are those moments in the longer rocky stuff where I feel like it needs more "houding". But to state the obvious, because I've read this again and again, those pressure guidelines are absolute cr@p. I weigh 82kgs and I'm now down to 90psi which gives me about 25% sag. I hardly use the compression - one or two clicks, and I just set the rebound until mid sized bumps "disappear". Now it feels closer to the kind of fork that I paid for. But now I want more travel.
  2. I'm talking from experience with a 120. There's a big difference on mine between settings. Set sag on the open setting - you can run the monarch with much less pressure than you think. I weight 82 and I'm just under 100psi. I would set 30% sag at the back and go from there. That bike doesn't seem to bottom out very easily, so just watch the rubber ring after a rowdy ride and see where you end up. I also find that I need the rebound three clicks back from the rabbit to hit the sweet spot. Otherwise it just jams up. Then, when you switch to "pro pedal" you should feel the bike riding a bit higher.
  3. Oh flip, I've studied that manual so many times. My dining room table is covered in grease stains from ripping those things apart.
  4. Are those pedals any good? Does that extra platform actually work? Tired of stripping CB pedals every year.
  5. I'll probably shove a FD on when I do a stage race on this bike, or when I go to the Himalayas. Nice to have the option.
  6. I still wish I had a Pike though.
  7. Here's the latest setup. 60mm stem. New ODI grips. Lev installed. Bootleg 9spd crank with 32T ring & 1up 42T cassette. Shock and fork pressure are now waay down: 90psi in fork just under 100psi rear
  8. You should never marry a woman with the same frame size.
  9. Feb 14. I have to say, that's the most way off review I've ever read. For a bike that wins Enduro events and with such a downhill orientated heritage its one of the finest decenders in its class. And yet he says the geometry isn't suited for downhill "bombing". Chainstay height is the same as the bronson, so how can this geometry be "old school". I think this guy is a plonker, particularly when you read WMB's glowing review of the 650/120.
  10. Which issue?
  11. But in all seriousness, if you don't ride a Pyga on challenging terrain, its harder to get a sense of its character. If the testers rode it around some jeep track then there would be a mediocre response. Point it down some real stuff and the hairs on your arms stand up.
  12. Just ride the bike. If you only have 1 bike the 110 is hard to beat. Anywhere.
  13. I was alarmed when I took my Revelation apart - how little (or no) oil there is in there from new. None in the air chamber (solo), just a blob of grease, and literally a smear in either side (apart from damper). Having dealt with Fox before I can't figure out how RS expect things to keep working for that long, unless that's part of the plan. Surely I can put a little more than 5ml in?
  14. Makes sense. I'm pretty happy with my Revelation. Until I throw it down a Karkloof rock garden.
  15. Don't think a normal ferule fits. The lev one has a "fin" on it.
  16. Maybe a silly answer, but does your cable run to the back of the post? If it does, turn it to sit at the front. Max mud and water behind, hardly any in front. You can do that with a Lev. I'm also presuming that the water/mud is getting in at this end. If it's your remote end then just forget this post.
  17. Ya, I'm going to do the oil & seals and then start again. Everyone raves about this fork, but I can't see it. Yet. Tx.
  18. Pretty *** review.
  19. That's why they have these: http://www.ergon-bike.com/us/en/product/ga1evo
  20. "Mongrel" Revelation, classic.
  21. Do you have a tennis ball under your seat too?
  22. I forgot to mention, they go onto my Crest rims really, really easily. Handpump.
  23. A better buy than Racing Ralphs. They're good tyres. Get the 120tpi.
  24. What bike do you ride?
