  1. That's a steal! Just checked my F50 @ work. Its done 3880 cups, and its only been in to Jura twice. Once, it was operator induced.... I also make Red Cappucino's through it, which Jura don't recommend, but one a day doesn't seem to bother it at all. Great machine.
  2. Howzit Hubbers Looking for a rigid fork, for my Cotic Simple. Any suggestions? I like the carbon look, even though its a green steel/chromo bike. Also not looking to break the bank, as it is a trial. Will be removing the Sid to try out a full rigid... Thanks in advance.
  3. Good on PYGA. I voted Yeti, as I felt they were trying new things, as opposed to keeping to tried & tested.... Looks like I'll have to make peace with the Sworks....
  4. Very Cool. Where did you get the bottle cage? Tired of Poly letting me down....
  5. Did a loop on Saturday as fast as my "athletic" body would allow; that runs next to a river, that has ups, downs and lots of loose sand in the corners, on my Epic; running Spez Fasttrak front & Spez Renegade on the rear. They both broke loose on 2 corners, and there was definite drifting going on, but I could feel it coming, so there was time to adjust and catch it before the wipe out hit. I felt like Rossi... This morning, did the same loop on the Cotic; running Maxxis Ardent front & Ardent Race rear... Non event. Very boring in fact. (in fairness, it rained last night, so terrain/conditions weren't the same) Nice combo, just worried about delaminating. Sidewalls appear to be solid. And they are cheaper than the Schwalbe RR I used to run on all bikes, front & rear. (Which were great all rounders IMO)
  6. Had a look at them at the Cycle Faire. Very well put together. Even the inside of the rim was drool worthy. Pity one has to lay rim tape over the spoke holes...
  7. Wheel done to the Saffers! Wishing you great success in this venture. See you at the fair tomorrow.
  8. Frame looks intact.... did he taco a wheel? I like the Pyga/s. Just don't know about the seat post angle... The gap between the wheel and the seat post also looks rather large.
  9. Don't let it bug you too much.... As I say to my kids: the best thing in life is to have Choices. The guys that are going to drop R16k - R40k on a set of wheels, have either saved long and hard; or didn't, yet believe or hope it will improve their riding. I too was sceptical of the benefits. 2 months ago replaced Mavic Slr's with Carbon Rovals, and if nothing else, the steering precision is immediately noticeable, followed with the lateral stiffness of the wheel. It feels like you are carving corners as opposed to going round them. Over time, its small improvements in your ride or kit, that improve the ride, in leaps & bounds.
  10. Have to agree with ChUkKy... It's not Niner's fault that we choose to work for Rands... Looks like a sorted bike.
  11. My Simple 29r is running geared at the moment. It is my first steel hardtail, so can't compare it to other steel bikes, but compared to my previous Niner EMD (aka Jackhammer), and Alu Stumpjumper, the Cotic is more compliant in the rear. Ride it all day, in comfort. I also prefer the slack front compared to my Epic. I haven't found it sluggish. I find it inspires confidence, as I tend to throw it around corners more than I ever recall doing to a bike. Don't do Strava, so cant tell if its just a "feeling" of better handling. Do I love it? Hell yes...
  12. I feel your pain... I am getting flashbacks of yesterday's ride, closely followed by flashforwards of tomorrow's...
  13. Not so Simple
  14. Simple
  15. Got this from my kids for my 40th. Too scared to contemplate what they will get for my 50th...
  16. That does look pretty cool. Was worried about black watches, but after trying out a replica Panerai in black, I am pretty sold on the look.
  17. Attempt no. 2...
  18. Workhorse...
  19. I can safely the watch is yours. Best return on R6000. Ever. ????
  20. Totally agree JTK. I don't have a look at the classifieds anymore. Not much in the way of ethics there.... Bought a fork in "great condition" - the service cost more than what I paid for it. Could have bought top of the range and bagged some change. Seller showing a 29r frame, but the one he had was a 26r. After telling him so, he still kept advertising it as a 29r. And your word means nothing here... Find sellers will sell their souls for an extra R10, after the deal is concluded... CRC it is.
  21. When you get tired of trashing those Enve's, put them in a box & send them up-country.... Very cool bike.
  22. Not on wear and tear, like zips and canvas, which I suppose is fair. Bag is at least 5 years old, even though it hasn't seen heavy usage. Awaiting reply from Singer Photographic...

  24. I don't exactly wear it, but it ticks like a Swiss watch. Belonged to my Grandfather. Very cool gent. Wore it every day, without fail. Loved it. Said it was simple like him, and it told the time. Always remember as a lighty, he would look down at his wrist and tell me that the church bell would ring in 3 / 2 / 1... Happy days
