This has all of sudden become very enticing...

I welcome that after nearly double that over 66km this past weekend.

Well thus far I have yet to come across a ride that is not best suited for mine.

A hard tail MTB can ride anything.

I'm in. Will be my first time on the long route.

My outoppie, nearing 70, did the 40km and loved it. Pretty impressed that it took him only a nudge over 4h to do so. I do like the new route on the start, a bit more scenic than the old one but the main attraction remains Groenlandberg for me. 4 years ago this was the first ride I did on my '14 Silverback Sola that I just got at the time. Today the same bike went up for the 4th time and the odo rolled over to 25,000km somewhere on the ride.

Did the 69km and it was the kind of ride that if you could put it in a box, wrap it and place it under the xmas tree it would make a great gift for a true mountain biker. It really was that good - as it is every year. I held back cause I donated blood Friday but that meant I had a bit more strength for the climbs. The entire ride was rideable - expect for those yet to upgrade to flat pedal. This ride scores 100% in my books, and each and everyone that missed it really missed out. The money you would have spent on this is so little compared to what you get back.

Still something. So enter events and grow cycling.

Remember that the proceeds from these events get's put back into cycling.

If I'm not mistaken, they have to pay the full day permit fee to Groenlandberg for every rider on the 66km.

The price was very reasonable, for me at least, I entered the Ride and got the discount too. Comparing that to what you get on this event the value is insanely good. Come to think of it the price is so good it feels like they are paying us to do it.

I'm more concerned about the potential rain.... or wind.... This will be my 4th time on the long route. Last years long route.

Awesome day out there today. Only 1 tree down on Ribbok The tap at Goede Hoop is still locked behind a gate, would be great if an alternative could be found in that area. Any lost their shades on Fish Eagle let me know - I picked them up at 2pm today.
