  1. Two things I wonder about 1) Was there an e-bike category? I got overtaken by 2. 2) Where is "the line" you keep on rutted downhills. Last time I checked we don't "hold the line" - roadies do that.
  2. I was in a group of riders approaching that and saw you had to wait for them. When we were a couple of meters away you started riding again - but I did see it, awesome stuff.
  3. I missed last years LLC, but riding in the park yesterday I will definitely be back in November.
  4. Bagged me an early bird entry on the 66km
  5. Nice. The long route with it's 1800m climbing is always a rewarding but demanding experience.
  6. My first time, battling the wind, still worth it.
  7. Seeding.... The most overrated bulldung I ever heard of. Just ride quicker. I started in B, should have bee in the last batch - still - just pedal it out. Stop moaning about seeding. It's a gamble at best.
  8. LOL - very apt description. About the finish, having done this before there in not really much they can do to avoid it, unless they route us back like the start section was back in 2017 and before. You have to look at what trails and routes they have around Darling and how they can work with that in such a way where they can put together different route lengths and handle the volume of riders. That is by no means an easy task so I for one am not going to complain about the route. I liked that it was a bit more demanding that your usual ride, many rides these days turn into gravel grinds (like Tru-Cape did) and I miss some of the more challenging aspect of riding.
  9. @Dave - I found the waterpoints to be excellent, we even had people playing drums and singing at one. Used the face wash this morning, and after getting home on Saturday I used the bath gel. They just need more crappers next year.
  10. I'm glad about the thorns, helped me get rid of the last LTX777 <- (the worst sealant known to man) that I had left in my tyres. There was this young guy, about 3km from the last water point (beer point) - he asked me if I had water. He looked really out of it. We stopped and I filled his bottle from mine. Hope he made it. Folks, you need two bottles on rides like these. Get a proper bike (hardtail) that can take at least two bottles. Also stop it with the cleats now. So many rideable terrain I had to wait for the clippy folk to push their bikes over it before I could ride it on flat pedals. Agility means more than a little bit of extra power. Will definitely be back for this ride again - it is just so good.
  11. This was awesome! Took me 5 hours on the long route (older, fatter, was on antibiotics) but I enjoyed it so much. Beautiful scenery. Apart from the lack of enough toilets this was absolutely perfect.
  12. Way too few toilets.
  13. Sorry for being so late with feedback. I feel that the previous two years were better than Saturday. The route was not that challenging, lots of gravel grinding. The start time getting pushed back to 1pm resulted in lots of hanging about. The organisation and marshaling was very good (apart from the 10km clash). It was clear a lot of effort went into this and this is always appreciated. I did not buy a day license but did give them my CSA membership number (which expired in 2016). My only hope is that next year they go back to old format and also bring back the Le Mans style start.
  14. I'll give it a try this year.
  15. I'm in. Good to see we do the big climb at the start, unlike 2017.
  16. Went for a ride to Mont Marie and back.
  17. Going to work.
  18. Any mud or rain?
