  1. Thank you for the information especially around the cheaper hybrid inverters, I am less confused but can see that my initial capital outlay are going to be a bit more expensive than initially anticipated if I want to do it properly, i.e. lithium batteries. Appreciate the input
  2. We recently bought a new house, and I want to look at getting a "small" loadshedding setup with the idea of adding onto it at a later stage (batteries and solar panels). To start of the idea is to probably get an inverter between1.5kva and 3kva (pure sinewave), since the idea is to add-on later and I don't want to get to the situation someone explained above, i.e. my inverter doesn't have enough capacity for everything added, probably 2 batteries (either 100/105AH or 150AH) and some solar panels if I can afford it all. There are lots of information, and starting reading up on it I am getting confused, so hopefully someone here can shed some light. 1. Is a 24V inverter better than a 12V inverter? 2. My assumption is that I need a Hybrid inverter to use both power from solar and the grid, is this is the case? If not, what is needed? 3. Anything else I should know, or perhaps a few links to sites I can use to get more information? I will get someone to come and do the installation, etc for me, I just want to know what is happening so that I don't get bullsh**ed into something not needed or not necessarily correct. Plus I would like to do additional add-on's myself in future (if possible).
  3. In again this year, last 2 years I fell off the wagon half way through the year, lockdown didn't help last year and not having any cycling related goals meant I didn't really have an exercise plan or didn't mind that much if I was lazy and missed a weekend of cycling. Have been hovering over 100kg's for the last 10 months. Both me and the wife overdid the sweets in our December holiday so we doing this together which helps a lot. She joined some Linda Kriel fitness app which gives her eating plans and recipes for which ever type of "diet or lifestyle" you want to follow and that really helps a lot, I have adjusted it slightly for a little higher calorie intake but it works well thus far (only been 8 days) but already see I don't need that much food. Since my biggest issue has always been portion size and second helpings. Also trying to do 30min cardio a day, which is really not that difficult I have realized. Anyway didn't weigh in on the 1st, but only on the 3rd - tipped the scale at 103.9KG - initial goal is 95KG, and then finally somewhere between 84-88KG.
  4. Jammer as ek dit vroeƫr gemis het, maar hoe gereeld word uitgawes vrygestel?
  5. Thanks, I have actually forgotten what Modderfontein looks like during the rainy season, I think I will rather skip it and just go ride Hennops
  6. Thank you for the feedback and suggestions. I come from Centurion so it was always 'n detour to get to the above entrance. I am going this weekend and will definitely make use of the new entrance. Much appreciated!!!
  7. Haven't been to Modderfontein in a few months, Is the entrance to the reserve still in the same place? If it is still the same entrance, can you access it from the new Marlboro extension or do you still have to come via Arden road - see below, this is where I always used to turn left to access the reserve? Thank you
  8. I also rarely visit the classifieds section for basically the same reasons as you. To avoid launching the normal home page which takes me to the classifieds page, I have the New content window saved as a bookmark.
  9. Amazing achievement by Hansie, especially considering he only slept for 20min! What a machine!
  10. As far as I know when the tracker is standing still for a period of time it goes dof, not sure after how long this happens, but this doesn't necessarily means he scratched. I hope he is just taking a final nap before a push to the end Edit: Also see hboli4 said the same
  11. Chantal Wooding is a cycling acquaintance, she is currently the second last lady on the road. She posted just before 6 this morning that she pushed her bike for +/-25km between WP2 and RV1, there was a section with deep sand, and she came off 4 times, so decided to walk. She is still positive and pushing to Britstown.
  12. Been busy with things and only remembered to do my SARS on Sunday, one day before the final day for e-filing. Was impressed that everything was filled in already, even my interest and dividends which I normally have to provide documentation on when being audited. Only thing I had to add was my travel allowance details and change of address. Didn't get a notice that I am being audited, and was holding thumbs that they won't change their mind, clearly they didn't as I got my refund this morning. Edit: Spelling
  13. Some Fox goodies on https://www.onedayonly.co.za/
  14. I went there on Saturday for the first time this year, and I must agree Anti-clockwise was better for me, the trail flow worked better for me previously (if that even makes sense )
  15. Unfortunately in this day and age it sometimes take a few tries to find the right mechanic or LBS to work on your bike (unless you do it yourself). I am not sure where you located, but by the sounds of your hint above, I would say you are in Centurion - if so, and you looking for a good mechanic go and see Robert Frost - you can google him or look for him on facebook. His business is called Robs bicycle service centre. He always gives honest feedback and does really good work. PM me if you want his details
  16. Thanks for the info, appreciate it just googled it and saw a video on how it works
  17. Excuse my ignorance but what is the topeak tool in die top row in the middle of the picture?
  18. It looks like a pizza cutter So I would guess it is some sort of cutting device...
  19. Apparently the Russians are flying out again tomorrow morning at 06:20, if you on facebook follow "Aviation Central", nice videos and some updates on airshows and the activity currently around the Russian crafts Edit: Spelling and updated time
  20. Did your wife get selected for audit? If so did she receive confirmation that the documents were received? If she wasn't selected for audit, I would suggest you try the query status button on the efiling site. The SARS notifications is a bit of a mystery in general.
  21. Team number 126 Cyclopedia. Hoping for 15-16 hours, but with the cold I have had the last few weeks, anything under 18 will do
