My first one in 10 years, so you can thank me for the perfect weather. We undertook a social approach, as we have been doing for the last few 94.7's. it was great chatting to the many riders who had 21 jerseys on, one chap was doing his 28th and said it was the best weather ever, he thanked me... The best part, apart from the banter and company of good mates, was the free draft beer, grappa and espresso at Dario's in Hout Bay, as it made Suikerbossie the easiest I have ever experienced. I made a point of continually appreciating the views and thanking the Spectators for their support. These mass rides taken with a different approach, remind me of why I like riding my (shiny, black, carbon) bike on a closed off road, with the wind in my hair... Well done to the city of Cape Town for fixing the Olympic pool sized sinkhole in Camps Bay, between when I cycled around it on Friday morning and Sunday. I did not think they would make it. Damn I just realised that I will be 60 if I wait another 10 years to ride it again... The weather was so good from Wednesday, that I almost forgot that it was one of the reasons I moved back to Jhb in the 90's.
