  1. Unfortunately not around tonight @ RyanPMB Hearing some rumours that there are 2 more medium complete bikes, ea with different specs!!!! PM Me and I can send you in the right direction!!!
  2. Poomd... waiting for the invite!
  3. Ah... just love making others jealous! It has taken me a long time to find the SS frame I really wanted... and i think this is it!
  4. Got the bike as a whole bike... its actually not SS specific - can run gearing as well, as it has a der hangar on the sliding dropout. I would hope that if enough people asked, the guys at Omnico may be able to make a plan at getting a few more...
  5. @Smartie - its a 2013 bike, but as far as I am aware, this is the only bike that was brought into the country as a sample. For some reason the bike is not yet even up on the GT site for next year.
  6. Ha ha @DJR - glad you noticed! If you know how hard i had to hunt for a sign that actually pointed in that direction, they all seemed to point the other way!
  7. oh man did GT do a good job when they finally replaced it!!! Took her out for her first ride this morning in SS style... Chromo frame, sliding dropouts, tapered headtube... and rides beautifully! I am in love
  8. So they want R2000 for it. Has what looks like a 1958 license disk atttached to the front axel. Frame appears to be in impeccable condition, but needs some serious work - tyres rotten, hubs / bearings all seized etc. Thoughts on whether its worth it?
  9. Ha ha... and Brandon / Fedgroup were trying to hype up the suspense... until old Mclean spilt the beans!!!!!!
  10. Um... guilty of running this setup on my single speed!!!!! Had no hassles - Use the Hope front because of its ability to run quick release and 15mm with adaptors.... Often move my wheels around, so useful!
  11. http://www.rapide.co.za/pRAPIDE%20CHAIN%20TUG/Rapide-Chain-Tug.aspx#.UJy3beTa_P8 - give Wayne (Kiwi) a shout...
  12. @BigGuy - Thats if the race goes ahead! Currently under Tsunami evacuation!!!!!
  13. I may just consider getting rid of my Kona unit if anyone interested (frame and rigid fork), as well as my 29er Reba fork... Only cause I am waiting patiently for something far cooler
  14. We buy expensive bikes so we can enjoy our riding more... there is not much enjoyable about riding in hideous conditions... hence we choose to save the bike
  15. And pick it for the middle and later hills, not the first! Amazing how that "easy" gear gets a little harder after 30 odd kms

  18. http://www.twowheelstrading.co.za/blog/post.cfm/just-arrived-stans-no-tube-crest-650b-rims - locals so get your favourite LBS to get you some. Then tell them to get hold of DDP Tech for some Pillar spokes and you are sorted
  19. @Nige - Yeah tht would be tumbles, tho I am not so certain those pants were so white after - recalls some stains post incident
  20. Possibly trying to use the fact that the BB was seized to claim? When working in a shop a while back, one of the big importers had to warranty a number of alloy frames because the factory had done something when installing the BB's and they all seized - no matter what magic tricks were tried, those things did NOT come out!
  21. Now if we could only convince some of the local events to cover the costs of this more often - providing free images always keeps athletes happy (and it would be great to be able to do so whilst still putting food on the table as a photographer!) Think we need to get this going KZN side of the world???
  22. Ok, so as someone that shoots professionally part time, here's my 3 cents 1 - What is required to shoot large scale scares the living daylights out of me, and now will only do so with hesitation, but tend to avoid it due to time vs reward. Shooting an entire event from the event perspective tends to yield between 100 and 200 good (usuable) images (if trying to be at all creative) - so to try keep 15 000 odd people happy is an extreme challenge. 2 - this being said, due to a shortage of good photographers on the sports side of things, sometimes these companies desperately seach for individuals willing to work for non-professional rates. So companies like action photo really need to look at who is shooting for them (AND processing the images!) - maybe they would benefit in all ways by being more selective of their photographers / staff that they hire? Because at the end of the day, the argument is not really about price - its about quality of product! 3 - @ Morewood Mad - there are far more good photographers out there besides the ones you mention. There are constantly new names popping up and I really have to keep on top of my game and constantly improving just to build some kinda reputation (and believe me it is not easy no matter how good your images are!). Hopefully some would consider me even having small toe into the category that guys like Kelvin, Jacques and others are in (even a toe in that category is a complement amongst some that are the top in the world!)! So my views - use or lose as u wish
  23. Although considered old and heavy, still one of the best riding aluminium bikes ever made. Thrown out all the fancy frames and gone back to one just cos its the most comfortable "right" feeling frame I have ever ridden on the road!
  24. Having ridden both 26 and 29 as singles, they are great for different purposes. My 26 is awesome on a tight technical track (spend a lot of time on the PMB world cup course... albeit on a lightly lighter gear ), but for things like out rides and classics etc (ie longer rides), the 29er would be my preference. So depending on what kind of riding you are planning to do on the SS, choose accordingly... or just get both and sell the geared bike
  25. Desperately looking for a back U-shaped handlebar clamp piece thing (the u shape that the two bolts go through to tighten to the bars). Have a brand new set wanted to donate to a kid's bike, but just missing this piece! Any chance u could help out?
