  1. Anyone have a carbon or similarly 'lenient' steel 26er rigid fork - straight steerer? Plz PM me
  2. Anyone keen to join together for an order from the guys at On-One in the UK? Needing some odds and ends http://www.on-one.co.uk/
  3. Sometimes it actually has to do with the surfaces you are riding on the majority of the time. WHen it comes to hardpack riding, less is often more. The automatic response to a loss of grip is to go with bigger knobs on the tyres, but this, combined with a thin sidewall often makes things far worse, as the tyres tend to squirm under pressure (especially if you fall comfortably in the Buffalo cat like me!). On Cascades single track, I have actually found that a lower profile rounded front tyre works better than the aggressive Nobby Nics by miles!
  4. I ride one of these and love it! http://www.bergamont-sa.co.za/650b-fully/threesome-sl-7-3

    Cascades trials

Its still there as of yesterday afternoon. When I asked, they are going to look at possibly moving it (supposedly can't remain due to environmental reasons and agreements)...

  13. The guys run them very successfully (I admit I also want to give it a try on my SS). The concerns around the tension on the chain are actually unfounded when you study it closely - tension varies very minimally through the stroke, and not enough to even come close to throwing it off. Often we forget that the high spot that puts the tension on the chain, also pushes the chain forward and tensions when in the low spot of the stroke!
  14. Most likely right hand spokes are loose - accounts for the dishing problems, and for the flex where the wheel is touching. Take it to a good wheelbuilder and they will quickly solve!
  15. Media centre tent is looking good!! They even giving us see through walls and a course view this year See u there!
  16. Was 10 years ago I last went - man does this bring back memories!
  17. As far as I am aware, the racing jackets are merely the new models of the jawbones. Name changed due to some patent or copyright issue. So likely the jawbones are actually old stock.
