  1. That's weird. It's almost universally understood that upbringing forges character. I would think a lot of a pro athlete's ability to withstand the rigours of the sport is how their upbringing taught them how to handle pressure. I would think the person's character is a direct reflection of the topic at hand.
  2. Maybe they did get training and racing kit? Like the soccer or whatever get practise and match kits?
  3. Yeah, but why do they play rugby that way is the question. Here's the thing I was talking about: It's worth a listen on the science of sport pod as well. https://play.acast.com/s/realscienceofsport/whytheallblacksaretheworldsgreatestsportsteam
  4. So, do you think Tiger would have won all the golf if his dad didn't have him swinging a club when he was 2 already? Do you think he was a sexual deviant cause his daddy pressured him? I think he had sex with all those women, cause he could, not cause there is anything wrong with him.
  5. Don't even need that reference. Evnepoel could be playing for the Belgian national soccer team right now if he wanted to. Roglic was a world class downhill skier. Woods was a world level runner (I think it's woods, one of those effers isn't it)
  6. That sort of flies in the face of the long term research that was done into what makes New Zealand rugby so successful. What that research found, was that it is total fixation on one sport from an early age is what leads New Zealand rugby to have more success on the international stage (going by the numers, not your feels) than any other country. I'll find the link and post it.
  7. What I like about the Trek and the Scott, is they're doing something different with the rear suspension. Everything else looks quite dated now. It's like on the road, everything looks old and tired with the dropped seat stays.
  8. Exactly, two bottle cages, one has tool bottle wif spare tjoob, the other has standard 500ml bottle...
  9. Probably only got one set, and doesn't want to have to do a wash every night.
  10. My internetting says no, not in SA. Only the traditional square kcnc ones can be found. You fancy ones is all order from overseas by the look of things.
  11. All I would use is half a bottle of water. And a mini Zang caffeine chocoloate.
  12. I thought with his knee surgery he wouldn't be able to ride.
  13. I see you guys picked up Fisher-Black. Your thoughts? I would assume if he's anywhere near as good as his sister it's good pick for the long term?
  14. R850 per tube? Eish.
  15. I have some raleigh ones with slime inside from Game in the mtb. They don't lose air.
  16. Look, functionality has it's place, but even in the hipster doofus woorld of gravel biking, the golden rule is always style first.
  17. To paraphrase many a man wiser than I: " dit lyk k a k"
  18. Good, good, she can close gaps all day for Coryn.
  19. Dunno who Bill Murray's brother is, but he must have painful nuts after a ride on that.
  20. The women's RR doesn't suit Moolman-Pasio. If they went the same route as the men's, maybe, but as it is it is probably going to be a Sprinter's race. Hence my pick of Coryn Rivera, both in hotness and sprinting ability...
  21. Like I said, relative. Excuse me whilst I go bleach my eyeballs. (the italian, can't help you, I has no instagram)
  22. That's relative. Besides, I dunno what any of these blokes look like. For the women, Coryn Rivera does it for me.
  23. Looks like his progression is backwards of late: 2019 Deceuninck–Quick-Step (road; stagiaire) 2020 Alpecin–Fenix[2] 2021– Alpecin–Fenix Development Team I mean you'd expect it to be going the other way...
  24. Location: Western Cape. That's a big-ish place. Care to elaborate, could help narrow down the search, and assist others to avoid danger areas?
