Well, I'm not sure what's not to like. Anyone else would have dismissed Dan Martin's chances of winning the other day, given the time gap at the bottom of the final climb, and Kelly called it 100%. He seems to have stayed close to racing and his insights are very good. Is it his accent?

There's nearly 5000 meters of climbing. Gibbons will not be a factor. That sort of climbing is going to be very very hard for Impey to get past and make the selection. Both are great riders, but the selectors (as usual) do not select on the horses for courses system, but rather some archaic and hard to fathom system. It's like they have no idea at all of how bike racing works. That men's road race course in the real world suits one of the riders in their list. Why are the other names there? National pride? No one here really cares if Impey finishes 27th in the ITT, do they?

I try as far as possible to never unclip once I've started a ride. It's a nice way to keep my self entertained, cause I stop at stop streets and red lights on the road as well. Of course it has a down side when some moron in a bakkie rear ends you cause you have the audacity to stop at a stop street.

Yeah, but those exposed gear cables dangling in front of the handlebar look, well, horrible. You need to at least get something that is new enough to have them routed along the handlebar. And although nine speed Campag already did this 20 years ago, it's a dog of a gruppo.
