  1. CSA does NOTHING to assist pro and talented riders, which is their function (not PPA) CSA want to compel leisure riders to cough up 75 Randelas, PPA membership is VOLUNTARY CSA have many income streams, PPA rely on membership fees and sponsorships PPA PROJECTS SUPPORTED IN 2012-2013 Cape Town Giants, Southern Suburbs Cedar High, Mitchells Plain Fairmount Secondary School, Lotus River Freewheelers Cycling Club, Steenberg Genesis BMX Club Heinz Park, Heinz Park Hex valley Secondary School, De Doorns Hout Bay Cycling Club, Hout Bay Kinetic Cycling Club, Bishop Lavis Lavendar Hill Secondary School Muhammadeyeh Cycling Club, Wynberg Rhadsport Cycling Club, Paarl Southern Cape Cycling Club, Oudtshoorn Southern Most Foundation Bredasdorp Steenberg High School, Steenberg Suburbs Cycling Club, southern Suburbs Yep Clan, Khayelitsha OTHER INITIATIVES Bike to work days Helmet handouts Safety ad campaign Commuting (incl. video) Safe Cycling Courses PPA OWN EVENTS Heels on Wheels – females only (Road) Schapenberg MTB – generic (mountain) Tread Lightly – females only (mountain) Tour de PPA – (Road) OTHER PROJECTS Western Province Schools Cycling Academy – fund development team to attend CSA Youth Festival Bicycle Empowerment Network (BEN) Mobility programme Botrivier Secondary School – BMX’s Chaeli Campaign – tandem for disabled cyclist New Mountain Bike trails in Genadendal/Greyton region Upgrade of Kraaifontain BMX track SANPARKS Tokai – upgrades and trail maintenance on Mtb trails Show me what CSA did for cycling in the past year, other than blowing smoke up their own backsides, and where the money went. They're too busy stuffing around with constitution wordings and flying first class to get on with their core function. They believe their very existence entitles them to levy fees, what a load of bollocks. CSA deserve what they get, and I for one hope that's a bloody nose in court. Leisure riders would be more inclined to support them IF they actually did anything useful!
  2. Just browsed through the Knysna Cycle Tour website. Apparently it's "mandatory for all pro riders to donate 10 percent of their winnings to CSA". What a racket. Firstly CSA don't contribute to the development of young talent, then, to add insult to injury, they compel them to fund their back pockets in perpetuity. CSA are nothing less than cycling pimps with official badges HAMBA!
  3. Howzitsports is absolute RUBBISH. You may have had a good experience with them, and for that you should thank your lucky stars, but for my money and appalling experience I would recommend everybody steer clear of them like bubonic plague. The service is horrendous, the promises plenty, the product average.
  4. Based on the strength of HUB support alone (including non-PPA members not residing in the Western Cape), I suspect members would tell PPA to do exactly what they have done by approaching the courts. CSA is a leech at best. At worst they're a boil that needs to be lanced.
  5. Men over 40 should have their prostates checked, THAT's advice everyone should listen to. As for the triathlon thumb-suck, I've binned it already, the authors probably get paid by the word. Numbskulls!
  6. You two should kiss and make up, both appear to be on the same anti-CSA team.
  7. Bah humbug, CSA doth protest too much methinks. Let them argue their dodgy merits in the Cape High Court, they are after all the antagonists in the battle for Cape Funrider cash.
  8. I suspect PPA is perfectly happy to remain in the Western Cape , unfortunately CSA want to NATIONALISE the goldmine PPA and e-TROLL funriders without giving us ANY benefit whatsoever. The return on PPA fees is tangible, the return on CSA fees is a big fat zero whichever way anyone wants to spin it.

  10. WINTER TRAINING???????????????????
  11. Ahhhh, you're advocating "double posting" and virtual multiple personality disorder. I'm surprised anyone has the time or the inclination to create so-called "dummy accounts". A system should simply log a user off automatically, and cancel ALL basket items, if no movement or transaction has taken place within 15-30 mins. Anyway, multiple blunders on the same transaction indicates either a human resource failure, indifference or complacency. CWC should step up.
  12. Your example is extreme. I am automatically logged off from internet banking if I don't shift screens or effect a transaction within a specific time frame. Surely all basket items should be cancelled if a customers doesn't "checkout" within thirty minutes? If not, it should.

I'm with Agteros, the benefits of running positively influence cycling prowess immeasurably.

  17. CSA needs PPA considerably more than PPA needs CSA, without a doubt. Without the Cycle Tour and associated seeding events leading up to it around the country, they have no credibility. CSA only have themselves to blame for pushing PPA into a corner.
  18. Johnny No Mates does screen prints, all very new age trolling!
  19. I have 18000 buddies, right here in the Western Cape, under the umbrella of the PPA. We participate regularly in organised events, and we enjoy the status quo.
  20. Why should ANYONE, irrespective of the distance and frequency, who ONLY rides locally be made to pay a blue penny to a national body? CSA does absolutely nothing for leisure riders, why should they do anything for CSA? Those, like me, who participate in events outside of the Western Cape should pay their dues nationally. So too the league and elite riders with farcical higher aspirations and laughable egos. CSA should learn to leave well enough alone, they're spiting themselves by playing hardball with the biggest leisure cycling association in SA.
