So Sat morning, after a run in Green Point and breakfast in Deer Park, my partner and I were headed back to Hout Bay. Encountered a group of 10-12 TEAM BONITAS riders, or 10-12 riders dressed in Team Bonitas kit. Overtook bulk of the group, who were riding responsibly, heading into Camps Bay. Traffic along that road is heavy on a Saturday morning. The front riders stopped at the traffic lights heading out of Camps Bay. When the lights turned green, they took it upon themselves to continue chatting, and riding two abreast. Traffic was backed up behind us, and the road narrow. I didn't hoot or abuse them, nor should I have to. I haven't reported the tjop riding to team management, nor will I. The point is they should know better. That said it's never ok to abuse riders, or for riders to abuse motorists.We all use the same roads. patience is key, but so is mutual consideration.

Yep, I start in lowly BL at 06:50. No cookin clue how the seedings are calculated, the seeding Illuminati keep their calculation cards very close to their chest. I just pitch up and race when I'm told to. Safe racing folks. P.S: Keep those elbows tucked in out of harms way

The OP is entitled to air his views publicly, as are you and I. I stand by the post you replied to. What was the rush to convene a meeting, and why couldn't it be postponed to accommodate the complainant's schedule? In the event CTG were in any way interested in hearing the OP's version of events, they would have rescheduled the meeting to a date, time and place convenient to ALL parties concerned. Instead they hastily convened a meeting without him and issued a statement exonerating themselves and their riders. It remains a WHITEWASH, imho of course. You have your views and I have mine.

The CTG official reply essentially exonerates themselves, rather predictably! The fact that the OP couldn't or wouldn't attend for whatever reason at the drop of a hat to appease the club and its procedures doesn't call the OP's account of events into question. This and tales of similar behaviour by CTG club riders from other hubbers tells the bigger story. The club hastily called a meeting at their own convenience. Did they give him a choice of dates, times and venues, or "summons" him dictatorially to their own playground? Why the rush to hold a meeting? Surely a delay of a day or two wouldn't have made a difference. Smacks of a whitewash. IMHO, of course. .

If these incidents didn't happen, the OP wouldn't have been compelled to share them with everybody. One set of rules for everybody, including the members of CTG.
