    Evoc bike bag

Has anyone used the evoc bike travel bag with a cannondale scalpel before? Just wondering if there are any limitations with regards to securing the lefty? Thanks in advance
  4. I dont donate as much as I should, Im usually denied due to low blood pressure, but I did manage to donate last year and after that I was nowhere on the bike, performance wise for atleast 2 weeks. It was a spur of the moment decision to go donate. Maybe not the best idea to donate if you are in a big training block.
  5. How will seeding work if you are new to the WP cycling scene? Previously raced elite? Thanks!
  6. And not one south african rider in a south african sponsored team.
  7. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/161781-durbanville-road-group-rides/?source=lfp Any takers? Info ? Thanks!
  8. Thanks will do. Read somewhere that the thread died down a bit.
  9. Hi guys Are there any weekday morning group training rides in the greater Durbanville area? 4:30 to 6:30 am? If not, anyone who wants to start one? Cheers JJ
  10. I must be honest, I've been waiting for a post like this. What my essential is and yours could be way different. I needed power to see my effort. To see how it increases and decreases, to have a goal of getting x amount of power increase or FTP increase in set amount of weeks, or during a race knowing how far I can push and when to back off. Things like that motivate me to ride and race to improve myself. So yes power is essential for me. No need to laugh at it. No need for me to laugh at guys who dislike brakes on their bikes. I admire them for that. Maybey see it in that light before making a comment like that.
  11. Power was essential for me on the road. Think you guys convinced me. And yes, those "ifs" make the difference.
  12. What sharper said. Looking at your TISS is a good indicator at how hard you went on the specific ride. I used know by looking at my watts and my HR, if I need a rest day. Like you gave everythin but your numbers aren't great you know you need some rest. Just my experience. I like what skinnyone said, with regards to FTP on satge races knowing your limits and not burning all your matches to early.
  13. Try giant Durbanville. Got mine there 2 months ago
  14. Looks like pyga is in the lead!
  15. I'm no nino, nor can I quit my day job. But I like to race and start in the front with the big guns and stay there as long as I can. I think the power meter would be great for post ride/race analysis and to see over training better.
  16. My thoughts exactly. Just cant decide which one of the two!
  17. So, its time to get a new MTB. I'm set on either the new Dale scalpe si or a pyga stage custom build with RS 1 fork, and more a less same spec as the dale. (Xx1 line build) What do you guys think? Any other ideas? Looking at moving over to full mtb race schedule - stages/marathon/xco type races. Im 178cm / 69kg. Used to race road bikes. All opinions welcome!
  18. Hi guys Would love your opinions on this. How important is a power meter for mtb racing/training? I used to race and train way more road, with a power meter but I moved over to 100% mtb. Do you guys think its necessary to get power meter for the mtb as well? Much appreciated.

    Gear tips

If you are going to do any riding other than on the tar, tubeless would be an essential. Also getting a proper setup done. Tubeless Multi tool Track pump Small hand pump/ Co2 Chainlink Valve core Plugs Bottles/ camelbak Spare tube Saddle bag
  20. Depending on where they came in, could give some light to their side of the story. These corridors are marked very visibly, members of TMBC only, with locks on the gates. Its a bigger issue than some realise. That land is open to be used by members only, and can be taken away from the club, by the owners, if people dont adhere to the rules/ markers. Just my 2 cents
  21. I'm at 4.2w/kg for 20min x 0.95 and 4.4w/kg for 20min.
  22. I was wondering if any hubbers could tell me what their Lefty shock service cost was more a less? I understand it depends on quite a lot, I just need a ball park figure. I'm not talking about the shock reset, I'm talking about the major service done by Omnico. Thanks!
