  1. That was fun. Did a solo ride lasted 8 laps was poked by the the end but great day out.
  2. If rumour has it track is slightly different from last year and a floating bridge section will be incorporated on the dam!!!
  3. Big Ouch!!!!!!!!!
  4. Parktool PC-10 I think.
  5. Phone Reinhardt Basson from Big Blade Cycles he has some in stock. He is in Heidelberg.0823168562.
  6. Where are u based?
  7. On the 40K route after you crossed over the plank that was laid down over the fence on top of the one hill and going down the other side where you turn left after the short rocky decent I saw some of the front guys coming down the hill where they went straight up in stead of turning left.
  8. According to Specialized they are out of stock http://www.specialized-sa.co.za/contentbike.php?range=200&year=&bike=223 so you will have to find a dealer that has one in stock. I bought mine from the Concept Cyclery store in Melrose Arch. It is a great bike. Only thing not great is the rear hubs and they are Specialized Syntace 142 hubs and the KMC chain I personally do not like. Bought a Hope Pro 2 Evo rear hub and Spokeworks is busy rebuilding it. Chain was simply replaced with SLX as the cassete is SLX.
  9. Which one were you looking at? Epic FSR Comp?
  10. Your front derailure has two small adjustment screws which sets the bottom and top stop position. Normally when your chain falls of when shifting from the big to the small chain ring the bottom stop screw needs to be adjusted so that the FD stops at the correct place. Yours goes too close to the frame hence it throws the chain too far and the chain falls of. If you have not adjusted gears before rather take it to your LBS to adjust properly. If you just adjust the stop you might mess around the trim settings of the 105 or not be in the right gears when you adjust the settings.
  11. OK so fitted a new Shimano XT M770-10E FD without the bracket and I can confirm that the bolt spacing is the same as the SRAM. X7 FD however does not allow any adjustment while XT FD allows you to adjust between 44 and 42 size chainrings.....
  12. Just for info Price for a 9/16 RH and LH repair kit without shipping. You can do the math!! STK9/16-20RHLH9/16-20 STI Repair Kit (10) STK9/16-20RHL$220.95
  13. I agree with you 100% JB. Thats why I said it will be costly.
  14. I know it's LH Thread but you get helicoils for left hand thread. You might just battle to get one but try here... http://www.engnet.co...fre029/products And they make them http://www.noblefix.com/
  15. All pedals are the same thread type and diameter so drilling and retapping to a bigger hole you will need to have a helicoil fitted. This will be costly as engineering shops charge by the hour if you can find one that will do it for you.
  16. So the lesson is direct mount FD's does not allow you to change chain rings. You have to buy the FD that goes with that crank set chain ring configuration.....
  17. This one...........
  18. Thanks Joris - Looks like the E-type Shimano is similar to the DMD of SRAM
  19. Can you use a Shimano XT M780-E Tripple Front Derailure without the BB Plate to fit on a SRAM X7 S3 DMD mount 10x3 Front Derailure? I cannot find the tech info on the bolt spacing and angles for shimano only have the sheet from SRAM. Any body shed some light on this? Thanks
  20. Hope Pro 2 Evo hubs with ZTR Crest rims and given your weight aluminium nipples and DT Swiss Revolution spokes. Ask JB to build you a pair. You will not be sorry!
  21. The specialized Epic Comp has a new 143+ 12mm through rear axle so just be carefull as I think at this stage only specialized and DT swiss make those hubs. There is (if I understand correctly) a modification kit from notubes to solve this problem with a normal hub. Just for info my size Large Epic Comp 29'er weighs 13kg's with only tubeless conversion done on the stock standard bike.
  22. So yesterday was my lucky day and this baby arrived!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Very Nice Gerhard!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Just a BIG word of thanks to the guy that was running up Chappies after he broke his chain and gave me his water bottle. I lost my full bottle after a guy crashed in front of me. Many Many Thanks!!!!!!!!
  25. Short term solution is to move the bearing cups or in this case the complete bearing by 90 degrees but normally your bearings are shot and need replacement. You need allen keys to remove stem and top cap and if it is a carbon steerer and or stem you need a torque wrench to re-assemble to head.
