  1. Only difference I can see is shifting action is low normal and top normal and 3g weight whatever that means I am not sure.
  2. Where did you buy that from?
  3. Hi Gerhard Garmin has a Training Center for Mac and training center reads all Edge Models in Windows. Just download training center then you can use mine to test. Alex has a 500 you can test.
  4. I have had mine for more than two years now and love it. Used mainly on the road but a bit of mountain biking the last three months. You need to stabalise the mounting on the stem otherwise it tends to break the mount inside. I have only had one problem with the speed cadence sensor where it got some water in it but opened it myself dried it out and just glued it back together and worked fine after that. I think this was when I washed to bike and got some water all over the sensor so be varefull with that The range of reception is very good as I have been up to 10 meters away from the bike and it still receives. Battery life is about 12 - 14 hours before a recharge is required. You need to study it a bit by going through all the settings and options on the unit as the user manual is not very good. There are certain button functions etc that is not even listed in the manual as well as how certin things operate ie you can pair three different speed cadence sensors one for each bike with the unit and you then only select which bike you are on and it automatically detects the sensor. The customized display screen is great as you can slect how many items you want on each screen and then you can select which items you want where on your screen layout. A lot of people complain about the training center but for me it works better than Sportstrack for my puroposes. The programming for training intervals and zones is fantastic and the flexability on the programing is really good to allow you preprogram custom training excercises. The recording is also great when doing this as each section of your training interval is recorded as a lap section so you can easily compare recovery times between sessions etc. It is however affected by temprature or something a bit as sometimes we do routes where we come back the same way and the elevation is not the same. I think they have solved this with upgrades on the last recordings that I have seen. Data interfacing with the PC via standard USB is also a plus as you do not need any special accessories. So all in all from me a big thumbs up.
  5. Have you tried a reset by pressing the power button for quite a few seconds?
  6. If the choise is between the XT hubs and the Hope hubs I will take the Hope hubs....
  7. There used to be a race back in the 80's called the 4 passes but started in Stellenbosch and went round the other way up helshoogte... and back to stellenbosch. Only helped out one time but what a route......
  8. To get past the boring part I ripped about 250 cd's to my PC hard drive and made some nice upbeat playlists, fitted a TV card to the PC and have a DVD drive with a nice big Sound Blaster system to make a lot of noise and off you go.
  9. Garmin works OK as I use it on three different bikes. Once you started the Garmin you press the mode button and hold (I tink left bottom one) then you can select which bike you are riding on. The Garmin allows you to pair three different sensors with the same unit so once you have selected the bike it pics up the sensor automatically. I then have speed and cadence on the trainer. Garmin uses voting system between GPS and sensors. I think you must also have it on manual calibration. So each bike is fitted with its own spead/cadence sensor and it works great no need to have a unit on each bike.
  10. I use the Raleigh in the trainer and on the road as a spare bike. Previous Felt was burned out in the Elliot Truck on the way to Argus so learnt the value of a spare bike. Also do the GABRAN with the raleigh etc. I am a bit pedantic about a carbon bike in an indoor trainer and the stresses that it puts on the rear stays seeing as I am also a bit heavy. Friend of mine had the dropout break out of his Trek on the rear stay on the trainer. But yes much prefer riding the Felt as it is an awesome bike.
  11. Currently running SORA brakes and they work OK but will be replacing with new Ultegra Shortly.
  12. Take one slightly used Raleigh RC6000 2006 model Add some nice smooth Ultegra 6700 shifters Then throw in a Dura Ace 7800 Crank with Ultegra pedals Add a couple of Dura Ace WH7850 C24 CL Carbon Clinchers for good measure Stir up nicely and there you have it To complete the recipe add some Ultegra 6700 brakes, FD and RD.....(still on order) and you have a realy nice winter training bike........
  13. What make and model or post a picture. Normally if the crank has bolts going through from either side yes you need a crank extraction tool.
  14. Has anybody had any experience with these new rims in XC application, tyre fit, stability etc?
  15. On Ultegra 6700 all cables are under the bar tape.
  16. Just saw 683 active users is that correct or a new reccord???????
  17. It comes down to personal choice. All three groupsets have different workings and feel to them. It is up to the individual of what you like. Personally I do not like the double tap of SRAM. I like my new Durace Ace 7900 and Ultegra 6700 lever actions and they are nice and bulky and I have large hands so they fit me better. Test drive friends bikes if you can and then make up your mind.
  18. The PCD of the crank chainring bolts are also different to that of a normal crank as far as I can remember....
  19. Still remains a miracle - congratulations may you cherish and enjoy her.....

    truth

Their prices were very good about 3 years ago but of late I get much better prices from the other cycle shops.
  21. Or if there is a hole between the top tube and the seat tube you can remove the crank and BB and take it out at the BB.. Had to do this on the down tube with a stuffed riv-nut...
  22. Thanks Admin!
  23. Had a problem with CRC last week where 2 items was not included in the package even though full payment was made. E-mailed them and they posted a new package with the two missing items so hopefully my new GP4000 tubbies will be here this week via Royal Mail. Service was not bad and fortunately the two items was not marked off on the invoice so scanned and mailed copy so they had no problems at all. Helps to study the paperwork and yes it seems as if they have a problem when it comes to packing and shipping........
  24. So all I could find is some documentation that states that 9-speed chains can vary from 6.6 - 6.8 mm so maybe the HG53 and HG73 chains are slightly different ????
  25. I made sure that I ordered the 9-speed SRAM links and they are indeed gold and they have 9-speed written on them and the HG53 is also listed as 9 speed so not too sure. Will go dig on the tech sites and see what the dimensions are....if listed would be interesting....
