  1. I have replaced two and it is 1/3 of the price of the new helmet not orriginal purchase price as far as I can remember.
  2. OK so download the file and then rename it to .rar and extract with WInrar. 12 Week Training Planner (Single Sport) Rev 7 Beta.txt
  3. Polar Version. Just plug in your max and resting and it does the rest. Attached 12 week planner with some guidelines but this is a bit more complicated to use but has the guidelines in. My appologies hub not allowing the size of file to be uploaded. If you want the training file PM me and I will e-mail later. Will try 7-zip to see if smaller. TZ Calculator & Exercise Set Tool.zip
  4. Max heart rate is very important and the only way to measure it is to do a max heartrate test on the road or in a lab. Doing any way of 220 - age stuff is not accurate. Then you measure resting and use the Karvonen formula being the HRR method and you have 5 zones. You can speak to Polar about their performance training seminars and attend one of those how to train correctly in the zones as well.
  5. The problem is your postage package comes through the customs system and you then get charged customs duties around 30-40% + 14% VAT (not sure exact value but high) You will then be required to pay these charges at the post office before receiving your goods so not a good idea. Bike spares is another story as there is no duties only the 14% VAT
  6. You can get Olympic Hurricane shoes from Sportsmans Warehouse around R650-R750.
  7. If you can remove the triggers from the brake levers you could use one of these if you have tripple front and 7 speed rear... http://www.chainreac...x?ModelID=55296 Or add some other brake lever http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Categories.aspx?CategoryID=552
  8. Yes you must remove the old rim tape!!!!!! The whole idea is that the stans tape sticks to the rim and seal off all the spoke holes to prevent air from escaping through the spoke holes. Yes the valve is normally the biggest problem to seal. Best way I found was to stick the tape right across the valve hole and then take a stanley knife and just cut a X neatly into the valve hole and then push the valve through. Also remeber to put the start stop and overlap of the tape opposite to where the valve hole is.
  9. As far as I remember entries open on 1 September every year. There is a two week period where participants off the previous year can enter first. You can enter during this period but you go onto a waiting list. We waited for two years to get in and only got in because the Trail opened and we were high up on the waiting list. Entries are on www.sanic2c.co.za or you can look on their Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/#!/sani2c . Other alternatives are to buy from someone who had to cancel and yes it is all that it is said to be.

  13. Any body have some idea about long MTB routes around Klein Kariba for this weekend?
  14. Or you can simply buy my X7 FD off my specialized epic 29'er which has about 100k's on it. P.S. It is not only about gear ratio's but your final drive ratio. See the link below which takes your wheel circumference into account as well.. http://www.sportsdigest.co.za/gearcalc.shtml
  15. Power Monkey's are available at Due South!
  16. Found this nifty little gadget after a lenghtly search at Dion Wired. Should charge the Garmin about 3-4 times. Energiser XP4001 Portable Battery Pack with about 4000mAh of reserve power.
  17. These are the two scoesche models solBat II and goBat 1500 and 5000 mAh respectively.
  18. Any one have some advise on how to charge your garmin while on stage races and no power is available? Only thing I could find was a Scoeshe SOLBatII charger which has 1500mAh and is either charged by solar or usb port..Price is around 350.00.
  19. Bring Money the pizzas are good!
  20. Check the Geax Saguaro or the WTB Wolverine both are made in a 2.2. The geax is TNT and the new wolverine is UST
  21. Here is my baby after a few minor upgrades!!!
  22. The 7900 DA and 6700 Ultegra Levers come with a reach adjust screw that is located behind the cover plate. The rattle that you year is from this screw rattling against the stopper inside the lever as the lever does have movement especialy on rough surfaces. I have both sets of levers and they both do the same on rough road surface and stop when you put your hands on them. Have played around with putting some small piece of tube onto the stopper but not succeeded yet.
  23. Try this gear calculator to see where you are.It is only 9 speed triple but just leave the small back chainring out. Most people foget that the same gearing on a 26er is not the same on a 29er as your final drive ration is a function of the tyre circumference as well. My opinion is to go to a 3x10 but keeping in mind that you will need a 3x10 shifter for the front as well not just the crank. http://www.sportsdigest.co.za/gearcalc.shtml
  24. Photies are uploaded www.BurningBushMedia.net
  25. Yep that was him!!! Race director for the day..
