  1. No but that assumes I buy direct from YT and Canyon in the UK/Europe from SA. That's no excuse to build those costs into your model just because that's what it would cost me to get a bike over here. How does that make you competitve??? On your model there is not much in it for me as consumer other than a bit of convenience and time.
  2. Wasn't meant to plug you, sorry. Just that's the reality regarding reference and context.
  3. And you'd know. R15.5k for a Codeine frameset with awesome suspension vs nearly double that for what, heritage? Or R18k-R20k for a Pascoe set. Sorry, but no.
  4. But these are at the very best for Niner prices you'd expect from dealers, not a buy-direct to cut out the middle man model. The sea. Get in.
  5. Calling YT and Canyon! Come show us how buy direct should be done! Seriously, the bike industry can get in the f'ing sea.
  6. You got me all wrong captain. Pyga are brilliant bikes. (So are Enduro's according to the reviewers you site, my friends who own them and myself having ridden them - each his own indeed). But brakejack is technically a result of a design flaw or compromise (in that it could have been designed away). So the blindness comes in at the refusal to accept that maybe Morewood either made a compromise or a mistake. Neither of which take away from what they have achieved. Anyways, silly me for raising a question about Pyga's on a Pyga thread (or the Hub for that matter). Go Bokke!
  7. It will experience brake jack. That's a design issue, not a "I've spent 100 hours on one" issue. As JVX said, doesn't mean it's really material enough to discredit the awesomeness of this bike. It is one of the better looking bikes out there. It's just this blind patriotism people get because a SAFFA designed and therefore it must be 100%. Go have a look at the pre-D.O.P.E system Kona's and the current positioning of the brake mounts on their bikes - it's on the chainstay, seperate of the pivot, whereas the Stage is on the seatstay, in front of and linked to the Pivot.
  8. So does it not have brakejack?
  9. The brakejack comments aren't unreasonable though.
  10. On the topic though, I need some new clear lenses for my Oakley goggles (to be worn with my FF). Who does that online locally?
  11. The 134's spec is a bit woeful it must be said. Rather buy a Trance at that price or a discounted Stumpy. The 153's spec is sorted.
  12. For R18k they can write their own comments
  13. The 153 looks like a steal at R43k
  14. I must say, coming from Shimano AM's it's such a pleasure not feeling like I have my feet wrapped in lead pillows. Really light, good fit, very grippy soles and they breath (bit cold in the winter I reckon, but I live in Paarl so I'm more worried about melting than freezing). Plus that colour is so #youknowwhat
  15. It's weird how first impressions really do last. My first awareness of Commencal was two years ago when I read a review going on about how great the bike was but the weight let it down. Now they all look moer heavy to me, even though I am almost certain they have made progress in that department.
  16. That may or may not have caused a disturbance in my nether regions...
  17. Yes, Avril Lavaigne also popped up in my head when I saw it
  18. I wonder if Commencal is planning on ever moving away from those decals? It looks like the 1980's designers of Bear International all work for Commencal.
  19. Are you sure they recycled the rubbish before packaging it?
  20. So no then.
