  1. Bought the previous model Mini GPS last month. Very impressive bit of kit for the price I paid.
  2. Yup, Strava added 800m distance and 150m climbing to my ride in Jonkers this weekend compared to my on bike GPS.
  3. We've made some changes to the XC loop on Paarl mountain which at one spot added about 100m to the previous relevant segment. Cannot for the life of me get Strava to recognize it as a new distinct segment, so no way you'll beat the old times on that. Then of course "Needles" on Paarl is right next to the shuttle route so current KOM is nearly 80kph. E-bike or not, you're not beating a bakkie :/
  4. Anyhoo, as an aside, is there a "control" in this series ie Strava is renowned for variances from device to device and sometimes it's just full of crap. Interested to know how that is levelled to ensure a fair outcome or avoid disputes when there's a second in it in future. And please, before I'm accused of belittling people or detracting from penis contests, this is an agenda-free query.
  5. It's improving though. To wit > https://www.bikehub.co.za/features/_/gear/reviews/review-yt-capra-cf-comp-r5093
  6. Yeah, the review quality is great. The conclusion is not so great if you're Bergamont's PR team. Which is what I meant.
  7. Not exactly a glaring review though (very good review, and something the Hub reviewers can gladly emulate).
  8. Rode Jonkers on Saturday (sorry Flippie, dit was onbeplan) and besides Bennet Nel, I didn't see a single Spez other than my own. Was like being in the twilight zone. Edit: I lie, I saw my old Stumpy come past as well. But still, 3 Spez bikes in Jonkers on a busy Saturday morning??? Madness.
  9. Admins please put a block on any "Hope" punnery. It's Monday and I can't cope with that...
  10. Agree. Quality and comfort not the issue. They're too short and the elastics in the leg openings are daft.
  11. Just seems like a moerse waste of money for no real benefit. Can't your LBS loan you a fork for a week or two while Bogus sorts you out?
  12. Just give the Just take the current fork to Bogus One and have him respray it to the desired colour. Job done. Spend savings on beer.
  13. I wonder what will happen first: Indola making good looking baggies or Chris Willemse selling that Formula 33 fork...
  14. The only swimming to done on this race is Mr. Vermaak in his pool of cash.
  15. I knew Tony Stark was wealthy, but not THIS wealthy!
  16. Hmmm, that's not a half bad idea. Will look into that. The other option I saw was some protective tape on the top tube and then a Bic Pen cap taped onto the tube tightly. You then preload an inserter tool with a plug and just pop it in as you would a pen. Worked for the guy on an EWS so can't be too shabby.
  17. Purchased one of these yesterday for my Enduro: Bike is now fulle "SWAT"ed - topcap holds magic links and chainbreaker, Zee cage with multitool and this Bandit for bomb and nozzle, tube and lever. Just need to make a plan with plugs (heard poor things about the Sahmurai and my grips are sealed anyways). Pretty nice to just take the bike and go without thinking about what I may have left behind.
  18. So 26th out of 32 in seeding. It seemed like going first didn't do him any favours and he was clearly off the pace in the last straight. Hope it goes better in the heats.
  19. I love my Spezza. I need to take it to Jonkies...
  20. Alos, I wouldn't be so sure about that. They all blew their cash on buying TurboLevo's...so that they can take a picture from Saaltjie and be part of the gêng.
