  1. Might save up for those Chainsaws just for nostalgia's sake, and to support a good cause. And because they look like amazing bars.
  2. No sure. I'm sure it won't be a dog, but there is still a lot to be said for efficiency. There's a point where you sacrifice too much of it for the sake of being able to hit that one line.
  3. Really would love to know where in SA you ride that you need 170mm at sub-66' head angle? Unless you are primarily a DH rider but don't want / can't have two bikes of course. Then sure I suppose. But as an everyday "let's go to Jonkershoek" machine this seems mightily excessive. Still want one though.
  4. Having said that, I do need to go home to change my trousers now...
  5. It's really really ugly, but that's a decent amount of bike for R40k The Commies blow me away though. Great looking, sounds like they ride like lightning and the price points put most competitors to shame. I endorse this.
  6. Bought the previous model Mini GPS last month. Very impressive bit of kit for the price I paid.
  7. Yup, Strava added 800m distance and 150m climbing to my ride in Jonkers this weekend compared to my on bike GPS.
  8. We've made some changes to the XC loop on Paarl mountain which at one spot added about 100m to the previous relevant segment. Cannot for the life of me get Strava to recognize it as a new distinct segment, so no way you'll beat the old times on that. Then of course "Needles" on Paarl is right next to the shuttle route so current KOM is nearly 80kph. E-bike or not, you're not beating a bakkie :/
  9. Anyhoo, as an aside, is there a "control" in this series ie Strava is renowned for variances from device to device and sometimes it's just full of crap. Interested to know how that is levelled to ensure a fair outcome or avoid disputes when there's a second in it in future. And please, before I'm accused of belittling people or detracting from penis contests, this is an agenda-free query.
  10. It's improving though. To wit > https://www.bikehub.co.za/features/_/gear/reviews/review-yt-capra-cf-comp-r5093
  11. Yeah, the review quality is great. The conclusion is not so great if you're Bergamont's PR team. Which is what I meant.
  12. Not exactly a glaring review though (very good review, and something the Hub reviewers can gladly emulate).
  13. Rode Jonkers on Saturday (sorry Flippie, dit was onbeplan) and besides Bennet Nel, I didn't see a single Spez other than my own. Was like being in the twilight zone. Edit: I lie, I saw my old Stumpy come past as well. But still, 3 Spez bikes in Jonkers on a busy Saturday morning??? Madness.
  14. Admins please put a block on any "Hope" punnery. It's Monday and I can't cope with that...
  15. Agree. Quality and comfort not the issue. They're too short and the elastics in the leg openings are daft.
  16. Just seems like a moerse waste of money for no real benefit. Can't your LBS loan you a fork for a week or two while Bogus sorts you out?
  17. Just give the Just take the current fork to Bogus One and have him respray it to the desired colour. Job done. Spend savings on beer.
  18. I wonder what will happen first: Indola making good looking baggies or Chris Willemse selling that Formula 33 fork...
