  1. Brilliant service from Intelligent Health and Fitness. My Strap broke on my RS300x,Under a year old) so I mailed customer care, last Wednesday. got a swift response, dropped the watch off with them on Friday. By Monday Morning, they replaced the casing, and dropped it off at my office. No sweat. Cant all suppliers be this good?
  2. Guys, Its the fun ride world champs, just chill. Its a fun day out in the sun. There are a ton of other serious races out there to set times in. I'm chilling it this year, riding it for charity. At worst, its a fun day out in the sun. my 2c
  3. Good Job Mark. Keep it up. Amazing. Cant wait to see the bike
  4. How many KM are we looking at here? Road bike, keep it clean. After each ride, chain is wiped down, and relubed. Is there a yardstick for how long a chain ought to go before replacing? Pls advise
  5. Most okes neglected to mention... You dont want to stick a full carbon bike on an IDT. I think there is way to much force going through the rear stays. my 2c.
  6. LOL. That just made my day. my kids, 10years time. hahaahah.
  7. Thanks guys, Was going through my tyres, and they got a few cuts on them, quite irritating actually. But found out what i need to know- tyres will be cut up long before they worn in. Thanks guys
  8. Just wondering how many KM is a reasonable amount to get out of a set of road tyres. Bearing in mind JHB's roads with sand and glass etc.... What is a fair amount. I swear by my Vittoria's I am just not so sure on how long they ought to last. Comments guys....
  9. I am riding with the Adidas ones. Absolutely phenomenal, love them. I am on my second set. Destroyed first set in a huge crash. All in all inserts +lenses +Frames = R2800 from Stanley and Dekock, and its claimible via medical aid
  10. Ok, Here are my Statistics from this weekend at Lost City, i think this gives a fairly good account of things: Saturday= Road Race - 103km, 2h44 avg HR= 85% 2968kcal (back of the flu shaking off a cough, may be a bit high hr) Sunday= MTB Race- 50km (actually 45), 2:05 avg HR= 81% 2042kcal So what I can see here is, my exertion was about the same for a similar amount of time, but the mtb distance was about half Consider the following Both were fast, flatish routes, non technical I think its fair in general very roughly to say its a 2:1 Average
  11. Agree with marries, ride both back to back, you'll notice the difference
  12. @Tumbleweed, LOL Eu 48 Shopping is a mission
  13. Yeah, there is the bar terrace by the cabana's That can work. I will log on via mobile once there, and confirm.
  14. Yeah, Will be getting there around 5pm, so today is a bit of a rush, perhaps tomorrow, after the race, like 12/1 ish. Not sure which location, suggestions, welcome. Lunch and beers?
  15. Any other hubbers gonna be there? Keen to drink beer between the races? Drop me a line, a few of us going down for the double
  16. Got White Rims on the Road bike, white saddle, and white bar tape. Looks Super Porno. Just dunno about it on mtb.
  17. Turn up your ipod. My Bike creaks from time to time as well. Learn to ignore it
  18. Oh my hat. WTF How many chests do you have? Can you train 7 times at once? I only have 1, more than enough.
  19. In Short, bud you're confused. An XT chain there cost me less than 500 as well. Your story just doesn't add up
  20. Speak to Tony or Derek. Something does not add up here
  21. Are you sure you are not mixing a crank up with a cassette, dude?
  22. I dont believe that at all. I am serious. I paid around quarter that at that same shop a month ago. Something on your story does not gel
  23. T_Nose, Pretty sure those were moving. Not race snakes at all, more just social okes on a long weekend riding, gives the event a different feel. I keep my racing for the road But will check with my ride partner @zula, what's your polar read? We werent super fast. Finish was 12hrs odd for the race
  24. @slowbee. Thorns were not that bad. We tried to avoid them and kept an avg of around 19km/h. Got cut a few times on the shins, but nothing too terrible. to be expected Let me put it this way. Between me, my ride partner, and another guy from my club (club 100) who rode with us. we had 1 puncture in total. This was my tyre at about 60km on Day two. Thats it, nothing more. it plugged itself in anycase. So one pucnture over 190km between three bikes is nothing. if you wear longs, you'd have been fine no skin abuse, maybe a few pulls in the clothing though. Okes also made the sand out to be far worse than it was. I loved this race.
