It feels like NTT is the specialist in starting a sprint to early...
Hi Everyone
We've moved back to GP just before the lockdown so there was not really an opportunity to go out and find group rides in the area. I've obviously googled a few places, but i would just like to hear from the folks here if there is any active riding groups atm that they would recommend.
anyone here on discovery life that can confirm that they actually deliver on what they promise. i had a chat with someone that caused my spidey senses to tingle with the promises he made. I am already on their medical aid, vitality on diamond.
i don't feel like reading through everything but my gym sessions from Friday and this morning have not pulled through yet, I hear there some issues from Friday?
No activity also pulled through from Friday. Today however i cant log in to discovery, use discovery miles or anything
The flaw still lies in their innate lack of understanding of activity and fitness/health and geospatial technology.
I do not think that a guy that runs 100 milers uses Discovery as a motivation and also does not struggle to achieve the weekly/yearly maximum goals. So even if they give him more points, what is it exactly that he will achieve?
yeah also the one activity a day thing doesnt gel well with me.
John A does a 2 hour ride on sunday and gets 300 points
John B does a 2 hour ride on sunday, then comes home and goes for a 5km run followed by a swim, but in Disco's eyes he has done the same training as John A so only gets the highest points of the 3, so probably the 300 points.
I do not think that they believe that, i think it is based on something that says you will be healthier if you do at least 30min of exercise 3 times a week. JohnB is a fitter guy but that does not make him healthier than JohnA. its the old thing that just because you are thin does not mean you are healthy or fit, or just beacuse you are fit does not mean you are healthy or thin, etc. Ideally you want to be all three. i would think that this is just to give people the incentive to get off their bum and at least do something.
Wondering how they assign value on the board to play? Frosty's biggest value is D300, on my board the biggest is D200 and on ridr's it was only D100?
Based on Disco Money? Which colour card you have?
its the same as the old system where there weren't diamonds on the board week in week out. completely random i guess
I caved under the pressure from you guys
My wife thinks I am a lunatic and gone off on a complete tangent on my new obsession.
And then the Nespresso machine stopped working...
She is a bit more accepting now
So, down the rabbit hole I go...
She will come around soon enough. I went with the apologize later rather than ask for permission approach about 2 years ago. Now a days she is the one getting cranky if i forgot to order the new bag of beans in time and critiques my coffee every morning.
At the moment I get an additional 6% discount (41% total) on local flights due to my card.
Because you moved over to Discovery Bank?
The discovery credit card at this stage only gives you discovery miles, am i right? All the added discounts on top of flight discounts etc. fell away?
Dischem? If so, that's par for the course unfortunately. Waited just over 3 for my results.
Location location i guess. I’ve always received mine that same afternoon with dischem

Think this was a flash storm. Doubt they had bags of time to make a call.
Possibly they could have split the stage. Stop an resume further down the road with aggregate times
yes maybe...dont think the stop and resume would have been more fair. i think they made the right decision, just a bit earlier would have been appreciated by the teams. But like you said, we dont know at what time this actually happened
Bernal you biscuit!
All you need to do now is drop Yates!
Why? You want him to take the stage...
thnx everyone, i really enjoyed this little competition on the side.
D-day has arrived. Big moves possibly today
Today I will gamble, so I might just be falling further behind, but playing safe will not gain on the Oxter.
Nooooooooooo...why would you want to gain on me.
Today is a difficult day to predict me thinks and my plan can fail miserably
wow that's a big gap now you got there!
I flipflopped between teuns and roche. i think what makes this work well for the vuelta is that there have been some proper breaks that stick.
it is a lead, but looking at stage 20 it can all be wiped away pretty easy if you get it right on the day.
luckily i had de gent yesterday as he made a big move. could have gone either way though as king was fighting for the break as well. Superbru is so frustrating sometimes as there is alot of luck involved as well, but when it comes of there is no better feeling haha
What, as opposed to a 120-ball match?
Personally, I'd be in favour of scrapping ODI's completely, and teams playing a mini-test of 2x20 Overs Innings instead. Bonked out in the first dig, have a go at it again the second time 'round. Blasted everyone across the park? Now do it twice. I'd watch that.
Edit:
WTF?
i was about to blast you for suggesting to scrap ODI's and replacing it completely with T20's. Then i continued reading and that actually sounds interesting, my wife can join me during the second innings, everyone wins.

Yip, he created a gap where there was not one, he is desprate for some points and made a split second decision to go for it. Natural instinct dor these guys. Correct decision made though to relegate him
