  1. No brainer , Momsen. Really making quality bikes these days, and such good looking machines.
  2. Always good to have a choice. Good idea.
  3. Its going to be wet, very very wet. I am taking my cheapest bike and oldest cycling kit.
  4. U clearly dont love your wife. Buying any bicycle from sportmans warehouse could result in serious injuries for user.
  5. Go wearing tekkies. Preferably the kind you run or go to gym with. Then push your way all the way to the front. Then when the race starts make sure you are pushing your bicycle by at least the 2nd corner and keep everyone else waiting. But seriously, I hope they have some seeding system, otherwise on that particular route it will become very dangerous.
  6. Use your mountain bike next time.
  7. Everybody is complaining about bottlenecks. What causes bottlenecks? Slow riders out of position, so my biggest complaint is seeding. Every single race I ride seeding is the biggest issue. The takkie brigade always push to the front and are pushing the bike by the 2nd corner. Race organisers need to look at this issue.
  8. The sand piece next to the river was very long and everybody in the midfield with me pushed that section.
  9. You guys should get a better marketing team. This is the first info I am seeing on this.
  10. the 30km was interesting. They started at 1 minute intervals, with waaaay too many people. Nice goodie bags is the most positive thing i can say about this race unfortunately. Every hill people were pushing all over the road and we could not ride. I blame myself for being lazy and not doing the long route. I fear cycling is becoming too popular, worse than sitting in traffic to work.
  11. Like I said, Camber is absolutely superb, best all round bike out there. For me, the Epic is faster, which = more fun for ME. No dual sus climbs like an epic, nothing comes close, when that brain is locked out you can put the power down. Dont waste time putting a dropper on an Epic, seriously. Epic is what it is, hard, race orientated and very responsive.
  12. Also a big thank you from my side for the event. Very well organised, and quite a nice atmosphere before and after. Like other said, route markings can improve, and some of us heavier okes found the sand quite tough, maybe a little bit less of that particular section. we sink into it rather than float on top. Otherwise, well done, and we will see you next year.
  13. Stumpjumper fsr. What a machine. Look out for the next Specialized demo day. They are called test the best demo days. I usually look for the next date on their facebook page. Then go ride the Camber and Stumpjumper. They have a S-works Stumpy that I rode last time. I was very very very impressed. Loved every single second on that bike.
  14. the 30km is as flat as you will ever find a mtb race. I am hoping to average 20kph and complete in in under 1.30 hours.
  15. Also doing it. Being lazy so only doing the 30km.
  16. Going for sure. Super keen.
  17. Very little difference between the Camber and Epic, I have had both. Loved the Camber, but ultimately bought another Epic last week. The brain is just so efficient for pedalling, which ultimately made the Epic the faster bike for me. Also much better handling in the tight stuff, the Camber felt big in tight singeltrack.
  18. Medals this year? I know quite a few people complained about it last year. Cant make the race this year unfortunately.
  19. Do true Cape, while you still can. Its fantastic and one of the best, then next year do GT, when Tru Cape has 1500 entrants and becomes unrideable.
  20. Maybe Dawels can give you more info on the Pyga, but I believe that was quite a bit more expensive than the Spez he eventually bought.
  21. Not that bad dude. Quite sexy in green. Not my first choice, also not my last.
  22. Delvera, very easy and safe, yet still fun.
  23. Dont you guys shop around? Bought my stumpy for R22 500. Retail price is R29 500. You do realize that bicycles are sold at a profit right. A very big profit. Negotiating a schweet deal is half the fun.
  24. This is just my opinion, but I always try and buy new. Purely because of the warranty thing. Its a huge piece of mind. Which sometimes means sacrificing your drream bike for a lesser model.
  25. I enjoyed it up to the point where someone decided its a good idea to give us km and km of soft sand. After that I was gatvol and over it.
