  1. I can see a 650b in my future if Spez bring them out. Also not s-works, maybe a expert ja. Geez but thats one good looking bike.
  2. Haha, ja at the last race I did the average weight was prob 60kg, all laaities, and all of them kicked my butt.
  3. So then do I go xo1 crank 30t or xx1 crank 28t, being a heavier rider at 85kg I am worried about the hills. But I have plenty of power on the flats. On a 1 x11 setup. Slightly off topic sorry.
  4. What exactly do you mean by that?
  5. I notice a lot of people hate Spez, because they are the BIG guys, or they are a marketing company not a bicycle company. I have heard them all, fact is they are innovators, no one can argue that, the new swat technology, the brain system etc. What that means to me, as the end user, their bikes just feel more special to me than the rest, I make a point of test riding loads of bikes, I go to demo days, my favourite obviously are the Specialized test the best days. Where I can ride s-works machines and bikes that us mortals cant afford. When buying a new bike I consider price, looks are important, spec level and mostly back up service. I have never had a issue with any of my bikes luckily, but a mate of mine had frame issues and it was replaced straight away. No issues. I am sure other manufacturers also offer great service, but then there are some horror stories on the hub about Scott etc. I dont own a Stumpjumper fsr, I have a camber, and a stumpy hardtail, butt I have ridden the stumpy fsr on the test days in Jonkershoek. It is a machine, and knowing the service I receive from my local dealer, aswell as the service my friends get in Stellenbosch from Specialized Bmt, and Dawels lives in Stellenbosch, how can I not recommend the Stumpy. That would be foolish of me.
  6. That is a good looking machine. Very nice
  7. I cant remember when last I agreed more with someone.
  8. I own 3 Specialized bikes, if you shop around you can get them much much cheaper. I am sorry, but as great as the concept store is, their prices are not. You will be able to get into a Carbon Stumpy for R40k. I am not going to promote any stores here, but do yourself a favour, go on the Spez website, click on dealers, print the list out and phone all of them. Southern suburbs dealers are always keen to do a good deal. My camber I got 10 percent discount on, and my Stumpjumper hardtail I scored 20 percent discount. Shop around, you will be amazed what deals you can get. Always ask if they maybe have a 2013 model lying around somewhere. You wont have the brain suspension so servicing will be no more expensive than any normal dual suspension bike.I pay R300 per service at my local Spez dealer, roadbike, hardtail and my dual susp, one price.
  9. Also tried on many, S-works prevail was my final choice. But the price is eye watering.
  10. Camber sits inbetween the Epic and the Stumpjumper fsr. 110mm of travel. Yes you are correct, it is a bit cheaper than the Stumpjumper. Very versatile bike. I use mine for xc racing.
  11. That Mercedes of Rosberg off the line was mighty, looked so much faster than last year. I think Merc could have won by a bigger margin, they were holding back. Looking forward to Malaysia in 2 weeks time.
  12. I meant to say, when all engines are working and everything is working, then we can see the true potential of the Merc, Renault and Ferrari powerplants. On a street circuit horsepower is not as important as somewhere like Monza.
  13. I think we must remember that Melbourne is a street circuit, so the horsepower disadvantage will not be such a big issue. When we get to the faster tracks with the long straights we will clearly see the differences in the engines. I think the Ferrari is also lacking some horses compared to the Mercedes.
  14. I agree, they should have kept him in 2nd place, also keeping his points towards the championship. They should have taken the constructors points away Red Bull racing. That seems fair to me. He drove one helluva race.
  15. Why would you go from a R85000 bike with premium components to a R40000 bike. Camber has carbon rims, frame, handlebars etc etc, weight is much much less. How can it feel pedestrian. Seriously.
  16. Exactly, dont make ridiculous statements. In 20 years, dunno, was playing rugby and cricket at school.
  17. My last car was a Ferrari 458 italia, my new Ford Ranger makes it look pedestrian over sidewalks and pavements, and especially dirt roads.
  18. It is called innovation. Both great bikes, no doubt.
  19. Cheating. That is what it boils down to. Yip, fully agree with ya.
  20. Start is a bit a bit of a shocker. I agree. But shhhhhhhhhhhhh, it a winefarm and they built fantastic single track and make great wine. No complaints.
  21. Agreed, I cheered for Daniel this morning, I mean his smile on the podium showed he is a future superstar. i think he earned so much respect around the world today with his drive. Pity the team managed the situation badly. I am not a Red Bull fan at all, because of Vettel, but Daniel changed that.
  22. Ag mate, lighten up. Your team did not win. Dont get insulting. you backed Renault and it failed. Better luck next time. I dislike Renault, I admit. Maybe next time you can gloat.
  23. Okay so 3 out of 8. With one cheating.
  24. I want to know why Pyga charge that amount for a alu bike, what justifies that. You can buy a Alu Giant, Spez, Scott, Merida, Titan, Santa Cruz etc etc, all of them, the Alu model is much cheaper than carbon. Now listen carefully, not saying its better, just much cheaper. Pyga charge carbon prices for a Alu frame.
