  1. If you see the size of me you might be convinced. None the less, not to go off topic. I would not feel secure leaving those around my bike. In fact wheneer possible try not to leave a bike unattended.
  2. Skelms smile when they see those. Even a hacksaw will go through in under a minute.
  3. haha, I guess working a a workshop all day you notice noise less and less. Walking around with a bolt cutter is very heavy, and very suspicious. the grinder is small and can be carried quite easily. That is what worries me. I see loads of people leaving their bikes on pro riders at events, do they realize it takes 5 seconds to break open that lock. These guys are getting more and more skelm by the day.
  4. I have a bosch one at work. Its very small, and hardly makes any noise. I use it for cutting fibreglass canopies at work. I have cut a lock before with it after losing the keys. Took about 5 seconds with a sharp disc. Absolutely effortless. In Paarl they are using them to cut garage locks and farmgates on the farms. Perfect for a bike left unattended on a bike rack at big events. I have accepted long ago I cannot leave my bike unattended. Part of life in our fine country.
  5. The crooks and skelms have a nifty tool these days. It is a cordeless angle grinder, a grinder that works with a battery like a cordless drill. cuts through a cable like a scissors though paper. Minimal noise. Beware boys.Easily concealed in a purse or backpack. No heavy boltcutters needed.
  6. Nice, that would be my choice aswell.
  7. Lets say they bring this 650b to our shores.Sure they will. Are you looking at the alu or carbon model.
  8. Do you think it is different for any other brand? I think its not about who builds it, but who designs it. We dont have the brightest workforce in the world yet we manage to assemble luxury german cars without hassles. Not gonna get into a war with Spaz haters. Fact remains that is a good looking bike, and I shall be first in line at my lbs to test ride the hell out of it.
  9. All very good points, I think the Ferrari engine will have the best chance of catching the Merc power unit. They are very reliable and economical. So lets hope. It is only 2 races so far Merc have dominated, so I am not tired of it yet, Red Bull dominated for the last 4 years. That got very tiring. But again the lack of pace from the lower teams is just shocking, Caterham, Marussia etc.
  10. Not the most boring ever, that has to be last year. But Oz promised soo much, I expected a lot more racing. All they showed us yesterday was the percentage of fuel they have used so far. And it is very clear this year that once you catch and get onto the back of another car, it is almost impossible to run in the dirty air. Give them 150kg of fuel, and boost the turbos to 1000bhp. And lets see some racing.
  11. That would really suck. Especially for guys like me who have dreams of one day finishing the epic.
  12. It was sooooooo boooring. The more and more these idiots try to make it more intresting the more they fail. Fuel saving is such a *** idea. The drs does absolutely nothing this year. Was a snorefest today. On a wide circut made for overtaking, we saw very little overtaking.
  13. Gerald is not too bad. At least he still rides. He is much better than Ashwin Willemse on super rugby commentary. Mind you, open heart sugery is better than Ashwin.
  14. How much does weight play a role in getting the bike in the air?
  15. Agreed, all the Lewis haters wont be happy. Did not put a foot wrong. Very mature drive. I think he has sorted his personal issues wich bugged him last year. He looks focussed and in my opinion, ready for another world title. I cant see Rosberg matching him. Sorry.
  16. The last era was all about earo. Red Bull dominated that. This era is all about the power units. Merc clearly in a league of their own. I also believe the Red Bull is a much better car than the Mercedes of Rosberg. However the power disadvantage is clear. Even off the start, Rosberg smoked Vettel. I dont see Renault catching Merc in the power unit department. Good drive from Vettel, Alonso with a solid perfromance yet again. All the haters who said Kimi will give him trouble must now realize that Alonso is little bit more special. Double header, Bahrain next week. Yes please.
  17. To the T.
  18. If you buy new you will have a warranty. Carbon will be lighter, much lighter, and much stiffer on the Spaz range of bikes. I know, I own 3 of them. Ultimately your choice. I was a Alu fan until I got the carbon. Game changer.
  19. Phone bridge cycles and Olympic cycles, and ask for a 2013 model carbon stumpjumper. for now dont worry about a dropper post. You should get in under R 30 k for a carbon model. My 2c
  20. mmmm, Vettel looked good in the wet. What that means to me is the Red Bull is a good car, lacking a good engine. Again having a issue with the powerplant in qualifying. Go Lewis. If its dry tomorrow Mercedes will run away with it. But I cant wait for the fight between Fernando and Vettel in similar cars. I have been waiting 4 years for this. Bring it on.
  21. He has a Vipa. So he must have some swagger.
  22. That colour is . But those lines on that frame. Pure porn. 18 + SVNL
  23. Oh no, I did not even see that. You killing me. Please stop.
  24. No no no no, please stop it. I am having a crisis. My roadbike is officially up for sale. No jokes, this is my next bike. Along with my 2 x 29er x-country machines, I will have all bases covered. Magnificent is an understatement.
  25. From now on, when I need any F1 advice. I contact Iwan Kemp. Dude, seriously. You rock.
