  1.

It is going to be a very slow build as it is a bike that I don't "need" right now and there are other things at home requiring cash.

Jewabaca has a rigid fork or two that have my intense interest.

I am waiting around 2-3weeks now for a reply from EVO bikes for feedback on a set of bearings and a rear thru axel conversion kit for a set of Hope pro 2's (non evo) .... may have to start looking elsewhere.

I have mounted the frame in my bike stand though, so the build has "started"

    I have the following:

    Frame

    Wheels that req work

Giant dropper that needs to be checked and req. a 30.9 to 31.6mm spacer ... so a can of something made from aluminium will have to be consumed and a ghetto spacer made.

I have brakes that I think only need a bleed.

Crank with SS cog and chainring

Pedals ... should have something in the spares bin

Saddle .... a rather uncomfortable saddle

    Need:

    Tyres

    Seatpost clamp

    Headset

Not to loose my sense of humour

So..... when... erhmmm.. do we like.... get to see.... erhmmm... what you building it up with?

I use a piece of thin brass as a shim, works very well.

I used a giant headset before, but now onto the momsen one.

  2. I have a 140mm Pike on mine and the geometry is fine.

How does is climb and corner at 140mm?

I find that with the rigid, which is lil over 500mm A2C measurement, climbs originally felt like the front was too high and unweighted. But then I realised actually it's my fitness..

Reasonably fit now and commuting weekly again, and cornering is tops at this BB height. I had it at a lower BB height as well which was also fine but straights suffered.

Actually how does one really know if the A2C at 140mm will be fine? How to judge? Or what's it based on. Looks wise I'm sure it will appear very attractive, especially with the thin tubing and thick suspension pipes.

  3. i have sold my xco bike . and got my self the 2018 momsen str. what a great bike set it up for enduro. 130mm travel fox. hope tech enduro rims . and a lekker 125 dropper . and some wtb 2.4 rubber

i love this bike . and i love how responsive the bike is. will not sell it for anything

maybe thinking of going 150mm on the fork?

    Pics???

How you going to go 150 on the fork? with an angleset?

Which WTB you having there, and dealer?

  4. i have been using your products for commuting.  must say that quality has improved lots since my very 1st anatomic purchase.

just a note on one of your products:  on the arm warmers i use in winter, the cuffs, for some reason there is something that irritates the skin near the anatomic label.  i turn the cuff up a bit to get rid of the irritation,  other than that it works well,

looking forward to getting our company branded mtb baggy shorts and using those.

  5. I am also battling to get Strava to sync. Every time I mail Momentum, a different person replies to my mail. I have sent screenshots and files to these people but am still not getting any results. Only my last 4 activities have not synced though.

If anyone knows the correct mail address to mail these files to, please post it on the hub.

See my previous posts,  just keep on doing what you doing and insist they sort it out, and SYNC the info.  it is their product, and robbery if not done correctly.

mine is working fine now.  just so BTW.

  6. Been using the S-Works Evade helmet for a number of years and always been very happy with the comfort and overall performance of this model range......although the lower profile of my latest Evade II took a bit of getting used to.

A friend recently escaped serious head injury because of the more trail orientated helmet he was wearing, and without the added protection at the back of the head he would have taken a direct blow from a rock and judging by the damage to his helmet the injury would have been severe.

Although I typically prefer to use products which are aimed at providing out-and-out performance (this is unfortunately not evident from my actual performance) I am not a youngster and need to consider safety as my main priority....hence I think it’s time to move to a more trail orientated helmet with added coverage at the back of the head.

I have been doing some research online and cannot seem to get a clear indication as to which product offers the best combination of performance, comfort and protection.

Having been very happy with my previous Specialized helmets my initial thought is to go with the Ambush model, however the more I look the more options I come across and every helmet seems to have a good write-up somewhere.

Would appreciate your comments and recommendations to try and narrow down the number of options.

Bell super (your choice, half-lid only or detachable-chin-bar option)

    TLD A1

  7. I haven't used any of them and all 3 are still in the parts bin. Omkrap storie to find them now. I'll dig and send some pics. But like I said in the group. Not the premium finish I know you want. Especially underneath.  Is it for the momsen?

    Yep,

Im sitting with two saddles,  one was picked up for R80.  the other is a morgsaw.  Im not liking the white on the morgsaw, but the foamy finish is so grippy feels like sitting in peanut butter.  the Sella Italia am feels meh... so maybe if the seat is covered, the selle will feel better  ..
