  1. Just checking, if you were flung onto the sidewalk were you not passing on the wrong side? Not trying to make any point. just stating the obvious. She could almost sue you for damages as you were passing on the wrong side. Ok I see this was covered. my bad. Moving the troll along.
  2. If I remember correctly the beta is calculated by looking at the winners time vs his time compared to the winner of the Argus. etc. So if someone had a bad Argus but get stronger and then wins a race, it implies the field was weaker that that in the Argus. Used to work that way, but I have been away for a while.
  3. I have never understood this. if you take the front wheels off don't they fit in the bakkie any more? There are quick release brackets you can fit to a piece of flat bar and away you go.
  4. Good to see you back on theair Pop
  5. So missing all the bull. How long did it take you to go from the traffic lights to the top of hels? why do dudes set up all these arb segments, they mean nothing.
  6. So Fan-d, are you fit now?
  7. Remember do not pull the skewer away from the frame. that just let's it spin effectively allowing you to move the handle to a better position.
  8. Not sure about the "prices" I think they are quite high. However, this is a funride, if you have an issue with the "prices" don't ride the race. It is a funride after all!
  9. Why don't you just change the FD top stop then you can keep the current lever and just change the blades (if they fit on the spider) and the FD height. I will probably be flamed for this I know but damn if the upper limit skrew stop the FD movement then you are sorted, unless you really try to force things.
  10. This still does not cover 2 up riding in the yellow lane now does it? If we ride in the yellow lane we may as well ride 2 up as we are breaking the law in any event just by being there. So now what?
  11. Ho Damn, don't get me going on this, but it is better than rebuilding the trails because there may be a stone in the track etc. Grrrr.
  12. Hope you enjoyed it!
  13. how do you get skills? by riding track, and that is not even close to being considered challenging, not even on a road bike with skinny tires.
  14. But damn if that is the worst of it then there are serious rider issues, even cyclocross bikes deal with worse than this. Anyway, MTB is the new golf so we need to have manicured flowing single-track or bike paths everywhere. Soon the downhill tracks will be the equivalent of old XC tracks ridden by fully rigid bikes. Reminds me of the dude that complained about dangerous tracks at TBMTB Club trails and and.
  15. So what is the issue that is a flowing track! Damn. HTFU!
  16. But riding singe file in the middle of the road is not?
  17. Technically this looks bad. HOWEVER, what would you have said if both riders on the LEFT were riding in single file behind the 2 riders on the RIGHT? We are allowed full use of the road and as such are recommended to ride in the 1.5m from the curb. This technically puts me in the middle of the lane, what then/now?
  18. Yes we are all mad, the cheaper you go the longer it lasts. BUT, that is not the issue, WEIGHT is the issue. It must be light who cares what it costs or even how long it lasts.
  19. Hot Foot it is, problem away it will go if.... Shoes fit properly, otherwise loosen middle and front strap until l your feet get used to the pressure. I find that I have been off the bike for a few months and then go for a long ride it becomes a serious issue. Not too bad on the bike, bad damn once I take the shoes off and try and walk. Loosening the strap works a charm till I HFTP. and let me tell you even drinking 1 or 2 cups of cement does not help on the first few rides. Use tit, don't use it.
  20. OK if you say so, but at 95kg even I did die Burger 75km on 32 -36.
  21. _C50_ is a local and I was his partner on the TB. I recon the only issie with going 1 x 10 is whether you are going to run out of gears on the downhills. Another training partner, 90kg+ rides 32 x 36 and is comfortable on all around Botlary hills and Hilcrest, but will be changing to 30 x 36 for W2W.
  22. Maybe not the right forum, but what was the fundraising success like?
  23. I smaak it stukkend! You know I had to get Admin to allow Dick through the filters as I was blocked initially. So I get it.........
  24. Grammar Nazi I am, please Thread not fred, Fred is a person.
