  1. Man you just have a bee in your bonnet because you weigh to little ;-)
  2. 99.9% is not quite accurate. But it is a mathematical certainty that ratios will be skewed to the "black" side. Why? 1. the ratio of "Black" to white is distorted (not sure of the % but I expect about 9 to 1) 2. more White SA citizens are better off than the masses and can be seen as "easy pickings" as we have raped the country. 3. the same % of white and black people perpetrate these heinous crimes, so there are more "blacks" than "whites" so you will see more "blacks" doing these things. But it is not a true reflection of where we are, just a fact of life.
  3. I like your sentiments, but what if a mistake was made? Who has to deal with the consequences? Life is never fair or just, but we cannot take the law into our own hands. We have a judicial system that HAS to be respected period. Anything else, is as bad.
  4. Just be nice as you come by me on the 75km. I am going to be the one on the Merida 29r with the anchor hanging off the back.
  5. Depends where you are. Depending on where I cycle in the AM there is more than 5deg C difference. Close to the coast is fine, but....

    Hybrids

I don't but there are quite a few that do. I know Geddan Rudock had a good long run with one and put a lot of roadies to shame in road races. If it works for you, keep with it. The pain is not worth the image.
  7. Well I have camelback, saddlebagsss and, and, for you if you want. Once you get over yourself you will see less is more. Each time I thought I know what was going on I went out and got it, the after a few PROPER rides realized WTF this is a waste of time. Only thing is tubless (I know you are fine on tubes clint), but wait intill you ride an a place where there are thorns..... until then you are fine.
  8. I carry the following in my pockets: Mobile Phone, Multitool, Pump (swap for CO2 Bombs at races), Quick Link, Tire levers, Tube, all food GU etc, Land Access No (do not attach to bike) and if it looks like it is going to rain a rain jacket. Then there is also still space on the way home to put leggings and sleeves in as well if it warms up. (OK then I look a bit like a pack donkey but so be it) This is why shirts have pockets, not so?
  9. If going for a hardtail on decided between 26 and 29'r seriously look at the Silverback Storm1. then you will have loads of tom to splash out on other stuff. I went for a Merida but that was before the Silverbacks landed. Still ended up paying more and having to downgrade some components.
  10. 2 Hours is not a long ride. Up to 2 hours water is fine or your favorite goo juice etc.
  11. I have the Pro version, but Strava seems to offer more interaction.
  12. It is open and I had the pleasure of being the 1st one, apart for Dirtman who was putting up the last sign as I cam through. it is still fresh and will need to be ridden in, but don't think that just because you are cutting out those few steep sharp hills it is easy. you have to work at it. (OK I am also unfit so maybe the racing snakes won't have an issue). Also there are 2 sharp bends that could co with a bit more of a berm to really rail it and get even more fun out of the stretch. But damn the dudes are really doing an awesome job for us. Please, Please pay your dues!! I would hate to loose the privilege of riding here because of a few D@&S@S!!!
  13. Comparing the 2 is a no brainier. But then also look at the IX 35. They seem to hold the resale value better than the Kias.
  14. Well at least that is better then the manual timing .....
  15. A PROPER dual susser is the way to go. Dont listen to all the arguments pro HT. If you get a proper dual susser is is ALLWAYS going to be better than a HT. BUT at what cost. I ride a HT not because I want to bit because it is all my budget allows considering my criteria: 1. Price 2. Components 3. Weight 4. Comfort If I had to choose between a cheap well specked 26 DS and a similar HT 29 I would go with the 26DS, but I still cant find one at the right price. So I went 29 HT with high volume tubeless running low pressure. It is still not even close to a DS. Granted the 29 goes over obsticals a lot better than the 26 and is a lot more comfortable. BUT is is still not a DS 26 or 29. Period, forget the hype.
  16. Damn that is nice, pity about the tumble.
