    I weigh 95kg and did 3h6.

    • Av Power: 224w
    • NP: 268w

From the start to the top of Edinburgh drive averaged 280w.

Thanks, had to get my calculator out, and it confirmed I've got a bit of work to do if I was going to get close 😊

  2. The thing I've been wondering reading the various comments is how are event organisers determining the swimming capability, or otherwise, of the field, when making what are now perceived as conservative calls? The general opinion above is that more and more people are underprepared, but there is no qualifying criteria, so how is it determined? Is it general feedback or concerns voiced prior to events from prospective participants? Or is there historical results data highlighting a general trend of weaker / slower swimmers? Genuinely curious...

I did take part in the Durban 70.3 in 2016 in which the swim was cancelled for AG athletes, and I was quite disappointed until saw the pros swimming that morning, but I haven't been to a PE event since 2008, so can't offer any opinion on the recent years, and trust the opinion of the regulars in PE who have commented above.

Had similar experience when my wife ask me to order clothes for the children, living in rural Northern Cape, the fancy online address "tracker" could not found our delivery address, after 30min just gave up.

Had many conversations with online retailers and couriers services they use, some can get it right to have a package delivered in 24hours, others 7 days plus.

@Guccihow is the bike project coming?

Off topic, but couriers need to start using What3Words... very clever app.

Maybe Lionel has taken over another account and is trying to get out of paying back the money?

I can assure you I am not Lionel... 🤣  Would have been happy to let it sit in Escrow with a trusted Hub member 😃 Only an out the box suggestion to see if this guy is really that desperate for the R7500ish (that we know about)...

Anyway, it appears as though this is not the best idea to hit the Hub this morning, so offer withdrawn 🤣

  6. I've been reading this with interest, as it is not often that the alleged guilty party comments on these types of threads. I don't post on here much, however have the following thoughts...

Does anyone think this is a good idea - I am willing to contribute towards reimbursing the 3 gentlemen / ladies who have been conned out of their money, and relieve Lionel of that financial obligation... however, they must each lay a charge of fraud, and Lionel must plead guilty to the fraud charges laid against him, and accept the consequences. Of course if there is no real Lionel, then this suggestion is rather futile.

If the wider Bike Hub community thinks this is a very bad idea, or if this will let him off the hook to easily, or if this is out of line legally, I will get back in my box and withdraw this offer, and post something again in a year or 2. Not wanting to start a debate about the rights or wrongs with anyone...  😀

Offer withdrawn by popular demand below. 😀

  7. I don't think this is unique to Garmin. My daughters Beats headphones stopped working on one side, about 6 months out of warranty. Apple would not repair, but offered a discounted replacement pair. At the time, certain retailers had a special on a newer, noise cancelling model, for less than the discount they offered. Not saying it's right, but not a lot you can do unless there's an unauthorised repair guy out there, or you switch brands as suggested above. I still have Garmin's, and my daughter has new Beats...

  8. I have 3 different devices and a Note 20. I'd say that for the past month or so, something won't pair every few days - usually the Edge 530, but have had it with a watch. I usually re-start the phone, and all works again without having to re-pair in Garmin Connect. I'm not sure if it all started just after an Android update, as can't re-call exactly when I noticed it happening regularly.

  9. I subscribe to both, I find Zwift better for workouts, and Tacx better for general rides. Otheres like the social aspect of Zwift, group rides, jerseys etc, but I'm not really into all that. It's great if thats what you're after. If you have free trials, use both before you sign up for a subscription.

  10. I once put my Edge 530 on my bike prior to the swim, put it to sleep, and then turned on when I started the bike leg - I had read that this was the quickest way to get it fired up. When it woke up it froze, and I could only get it working about 10km in. Even then, it did not pick up HR or my PM, so now I do it as mentioned above, and just switch on as I'm going through transition. No problem since then, even if it takes a few seconds to pick up GPS.

  11. Not Garmin, but had the short warranty issue with my daughters Beats headphones. 18 months old, 12 month warranty, and Apple shrug their shoulders and offer a new pair for slightly more than what I paid originally. Now she wants an upgrade ????

@Cheabb78 oh dear. the whole reason i got it was because of power on the road and the smart trainer. just made more sense to have the same set of data then for the mtb aswell

If possible, do a ride where you record your trainer power on Zwift (or whatever you use), and record your Stages power on your head unit / watch. You'll get an idea of the variance, if any, and adjust accordingly.

  13. I think that the last bit of the above post is possibly the best advice when training with power... One system, consistent data. Otherwise you need to establish the variance between your various PM's, and I'm including smart trainers in that.

  14. I assume that nobody uses their cycling computer while zwifting, and you just connect your HR monitor smart trainer etc and get the data displayed on the HUD on Zwift and then it gets sent to Garmin / Strava when you end the activity?

Use my Edge 530 during workouts so that I can see ave lap power during the various intervals, as I don't like ERG mode. But then don't save it to avoid duplication.

  15. Random thing I noticed this morning, Zwift is loading my workouts one day behind the actual workout date. E.G I rode this morning 28/8 and Zwift uploaded the workouts as 27/8 to TP and Strava.

Did some googling and others have had this issue but no solutions. I checked region setting on all the apps and they correct.

    Anybody else seen this before?

Not had this issue, but the only thing I have notice previously is that when the maps change as per the calendar, is that the switch over is midnight California time. Maybe a possibility that it recognized that time rather than SA time in this instance? But that is a complete guess and based on no experience or expert knowledge whatsoever  :D
