Another bike jacking yesterday at 5pm on Cycle route between Paarden eiland and Woodstock.Jackers knew Metro cops would not be out on the cycle route in the rain and took their chance. Be carefull out there.

Simonstown at dawn , on to Millerspoint to check out the big boys toys and then a cruise through Houtbay harbour

Molteno Rd ,Oranjezicht goes up towards Cable car - still to try. Tried Bellevue st but to much traffic and had to jump off.

Favourite way to avoid traffic in Rondebosch and Newlands via Liesbeeck River Walk on towards Constantia Greenbelt

Try a cold shower,not so lekka in winter though.

Guys who crash their cars on the cycle route on payday weekend are never going to own up or clean up all their glass,carparts and beer bottles. Be careful early in the morning over the weekend

Beware of container trucks in Paarden Eiland & harbour entrance.Marine service rd very popular with cyclists on the weekends and on Sat morning early a BMW was taken out by a container truck overtaking causing the BMW to veer out of control and crash into a wall.Shortly after that about 20 cyclists came through.Rather stick to the cycle route .

Never trust the weather report .Light rain! BAH .Got drenched this morning.Somehow the clothes in my pack stayed dry.Challenge now to get the kit dry in the storeroom.The worst is the water sloshing around inside your shoes

By moving in a circle you force to dog to move his front feet or he is going to fall over and in theory the dog will then let go.

Unfortunately I don't have a pet to show ,but have the tooth marks to show after 2 dogs (one without a leash and one on a very flimsy leash and owner) decided to get physical on a crowded Blaauwberg beach and did not like me getting involved.Learned a valuable lesson in separating fighting dogs - grab dog by hind legs and lift - and move in a circle to avoid being bitten.This lesson cost 800 bucks.Not even a word of thanks from owners. Don't blame the dogs ,blame the owners .Dogs need leaders not friends.

Nice to have the bike at work in case you need to fetch something in the city . No parking hassles!

Don't mind 8 degrees C in CT .Feel for the guys on the Highveld when the temp drops below zero!!

I go past this site every day. RIP Adre Gone just more than 1 year ago It reminds me of how vunerable we are . Took this last Sunday after 1. being pushed off Rhodes Dr by oncoming traffic .Bikes and runners had to dodge overtaking bakkie. 2.Being squeezed into the corner by a big Checkers truck cutting the corner in Bakoven

Hi Stoffies .Did you get any further feedback from SAPS on the bike jacking?I remember you saying there was a link with other bike jackings.

Next Thursday is State of the Nation Address and the end of Mining Indaba at CTICC.Streets all over CBD are going to be closed off,leading to the usual traffic chaos.Would like to suggest that anybody with a bike beats this 3 to 4 hours of chaos and takes relaxing cycle home.

Going home is going to be fun,down wind all the way!!

Once again we have crime on the mountain.A runner was murdered on the pipetrack above Campsbay this morning.Nothing taken!!!! Pepperspray a must, at least as well as a whistle to make a noise. Take care out there!

Monday 6am Milnerton Beach,taken the day off to have the bike serviced.Luckily the LBS only opens at 9am ,time for some fun!

Sunday morning surf check : Big Bay - no surf , no wind = Great day on the bike

After a month of commuting by car I am back on the bike .Forgotten how refreshing the southeaster can be early morning!

After work ride,1st time on the bike this week.Could not resist a stop at Oceana Power Boat Club for a cold one.
