  1. I still have 2 for you. Work in Stellenbosch ... Can post them via snail mail?
  2. Yup, sometimes there is one corrupt file that causes havoc. Delete regularly and uploading is faster on all other sites and programmes.
  3. How many di you want? And where are you? PM me
  4. With the way you were punishing your Titanium SingleSpeed on the R44 the other, I am not surprised you dropped those flies left, right and center. I am also a firm believer in ... Know your limits but know your enemy's better! Yes the elite guys have different tactics and being able to wheelsuck through a storm is vital ... because their aim is to actually WIN the race. The rest of us mere mortals are surely riding to finish as fast as we possibly can. The more wheelsuckers that contribute, the quicker this would happen. No? NEWSFLASH: If the number on my back are two or three letters down the alphabet from yours, no matter what you try in that last 50 meters, sprint, spoeg or plak, especially since you were nowhere to be seen in the last 30km while we were pulling you along at leisure ... I already rode 2 or 3min into you and I am still beating your wheelsucking ass. In the end, I see the wheelsuckers as motivation. Motivation to ride harder because guess who is getting the better workout, the guy in front or the guy in the pack? Regards A slow but steady mid-pack rider that learned a long time ago, there is always someone faster out there!
  5. Yup, especially in that wind. Not that easy to drop the wheel suckers in a headwind ... a bit easier in a crosswind when you can gutter. But still easier to wheelsuck than hand out the pain!
  6. Check that crosswind is so hard ... my front deep section is flexing!!
  7. There are much cooler stuff you can do with your fancy toy, I have used mine to record my HR ave, HR max and lets call it HR peak during ... all sorts of aerobic excersise. Nevermind! There are much cooler stuff it can do! Instead of you following a line on the little screen, you can have your family follow you and your every move using the live tracking via your smartphone! Smart hey?
  8. Just ride your routes and stop playing around with mapmyride ... as I used to keep telling TinyK. The Garmin (whichever one) will all record your ride much more accurately than you can draw on a map. After your ride, export and upload to any site and make the route available to whoever. I still dont get why you would want to stare at a little screen, trying to see where you must go, instead of just riding your bike, having fun while exploring and keeping your eyes on the road so you can keep your wheels out of the ditches?
  9. Aaaah! Sorry misunderstood you there for a second, thinking that you should have been on Jerry Springer if you, your brother and your dad were the four I described before!
  10. Nope, you were not. It was me (Flandria kit), Marius with his white Johnny Mellow top, a guy from the All Stars team with rotor-rings and a black Spez and another mature gentleman. We got away after the fruitsellers 4 way stop. Maruis and I dropped the other two before we turned right towards Perdeberg. We continued to catch and pull bunches along without any real help, except for Frail, with is cannonball style as always shooting of the front with a moerse speed. Shot for the help tho bud. Marius unfortunately had to stop for water just before Fairview, I carried on and finished 5min or so in front of the bunch, on me ace.
  11. The R350 for the second lap probably goes towards the cup of coke you did not stop for on the first lap! Ive been doing it twice for so many years the novelty has worn off ... actually the novelty of the whole world funride championship is starting to wear off. I am over "racing" the August and getting involved with the nervous riders and their pile-ups a week or so before a much more important race. Must say, every time I did a second lap, I enjoyed it much more than the first, time so soak up the vibe, enjoy the scenery, help some strugglers, snap a photo or two ... much more fun. Started doing the second lap as a way to raise funds and awareness for the charity close to my heart.
  12. Those results for podium spots aint right.
  13. Great riding with you again Marius, we gave it plenty, just like the old days. We started that break at the precise moment. Sorry you had to stop for that water topup, you deserved a top spot in our bunch today. Yea I also enjoyed the suffering and the conditions, wind, heat, plenty of rollers with no major climbs ... bring it on!
  14. Owner collected his bike at the finish! He did ask a couple of times where his front wheel is ... The oak with the mic said he saw a guy lifting the bike out of a car and he stopped him ... someone else said bakkie. At least someone got half his bike back. Luckily all he needs to replace is the front wheel and not the whole bike!

    99er crash out

Up to now I have not seen one reply that anyone were unaware that there was going to be a gravel section. That was made pretty clear by the organisers. They also did not promise a silky smooth almost tar like gravel section now did they? Was anyone forced to enter this race? No one was allowed to get off their bikes and walk the gravel section because there were officials with whips next to the road forcing people to stay on their bikes, right? No one was allowed to slow down and ride carefully though the gravel because you whould get whipped for looking down and thinking about touching your brakes, right? That little terms and conditions box that you ticked and agreed to when entering, without reading (like we all do), means you wont be able to sue the organisers for any damages or loss. If #HTFU sounds to harsh ... let me put it another way ... this time with a second option. #HTFU or #STFU (shut)

    99er crash out

First time the 99er went over the gravel section but not the first time it was used in a race. Neutralising the race at the gravel section is not practical ... not every single bunch has a leadout car or race official. Neutralising the first couple ok km's to get out of town safely also never works, no one listens to that "suggestion"! #HTFU ... comes to mind.
  19. Correct ... but that still does not scare the skelms away from selling or stealing the stuff. The skelm steals it and "gives" or "sells" it to his buddy. Buddy sells it to the pawn shop with clear conscious cause he did in fact not steal the item. Waaay Too easy!!
  20. I wouldn't give a crap whether it has been 3 years or 10 years, if I see someone riding around on my stolen bike, I would still want to donner him, wouldnt you? My bikes are MY bike! Cut the oak some slack! Not his fault that the bike got stolen! But yea ... the pawn shop cant take much of the blame because they dont give a crap. All they are required to do, is ask the seller (be it the skelm himself or one of his buddies) for ID and that is it! The pawn shop is not going to phone every police station in WP to find out if a silver Giant with an unknown serial number has been reported stolen in the last million years. They are also not going to go through every single "stolen bike" thread here on the hub either!
  21. JA asb! Ek soek daai 20t CK!
  22. Do a youtube search, saw a student that did a pretty neat job and he told me he found step by step instructions on youtube!
  23. Wtf is a 9spd halflink? just streatching your chain! If you use a halflink CHAIN, you dont need a chain tensioner. The halflink only comes in ONE speed ... Fullspeed!
  24. Oh and you wont have a problem slapping tjoobless on that wheelset of yours!
  25. Yea stay away from 26er tyres, they are old news. Ok seriously... You get many different types of tyres. Wire beaded Protection Tubeless Ready (Non UST) Snakeskin Tubeless (UST) If you have a 26er get UST Tubeless tires. If you have a 29er, get Snakeskin or Protection. The UST options in 29er is pretty limited to Maxxis, the other brands claim their UST 29er versions would be to heavy. There are like a gazillion threads on here about tires, just do a search. Brand choice boils down to your own riding style, personal preference and what you inted to use the tyre for mainly ... muddy, dry, rocky, sandy, also do you require light or durable? Search ....
