  9. As average as averages can be, that calculation is far more accurate than the duration based calc. With the early duration based calc, you could switch your unit on (without even wearing your HR belt) leave it on your desk and disappear. Upon return 3 hrs later, you would have clocked 2500 calories or something stupid. Keep in mind people differ any waaay too many variables needs to be taken into account, variables that a little computer on your handlebar is going to struggle to comprehend. V02 max rates Metabolism % body fat Fitness level Whst you had for breakfast CO2 absorption rates Etc etc etc I would still like to know what happens when you hit the stop button on your unit after a workout? Dies your body automatically stop burning calories? No it does not! So how much does it keep burning for how long after your workout ... and again we are back to a long list of variables! The law of averages assumes that an unnatural short term balance will occur, hence all the avarages in the calculation!
  10. In short: The Forerunner uses an older type of caluculation of which the basis is duration of workout. The Edge use a newer calculation, an algorithm based on averages that takes more variables into account (based on averages)

  16. If you want something puncture resistant ... Continental Gatorskin Sprinter. Tough as nails and probably best value for money.
  17. I try and say away from anything puncture prone. Try permatubes

  20. Raced that little section on tubbies and deep section carbon wheels some years back when Gecko cycles hosted the race, no problems! #HTFU
  21. I would not go as far as to call those lightweight, no. They tip the scale around 2100g Bomb proof, yes definitely. Chuck whatever you like at them and they just keep on going. Awesome training wheels

  23. Im done with jogging ... I have now started ... wait for it ... running! Running my hand through my hair as I prepare for this massive facepalm!
  24. Merida Although you are comparing a 27.5 against a 29er. The Merida Big 7 range is their 650b's. I would rather look at the Big 9 TFS 300. Same spec, same price butt ... bigger and faster!
