  4. BEWARE Welgevonden just outside Stellenbosch. I know of 3 attacks in the last two weeks. Guys are hiding in the bush and throwing moerse rocks at cyclist ... even those riding on the other side of the road
  5. Continental Gatorskin Sprinter ... nuff said
  6. Been saying this for weeks, starting a 60km race in Paarl at the end of November at 8:00am, is asking for trouble. See the 30km has been moved from 10:00am to 9:30. They must be starting this race so late to give the organizers time to drive through from JHB on Sunday morning.
  7. Appreciate the phone call ASG! Anyone else getting this message at the "Disclaimer" part of the entry process? I cant get past this, tried FF, Chrome ... no luck
  8. I tried entering last night. Every time I get to the disclaimer and check "agree", an error message comes up saying "something appears to be broken please try again" I have tried again and again and again, cant get past the disclaimer. Paid via eft and emailed you, hope thats ok!
  9. These two? https://www.facebook...&type=1 That would be Chaeli Mycroft and Grant Kruger! Strong brave man you are Grant Kruger, sir! They did a 4:17 if I am not mistaken. They are riding for the Chaeli Campaign, raising funds and creating awareness to help other children with disabilities and learning disabilities. They are building a Learning Center next year and need loads of support and load of financial support to accomplish this goal SupremeLady and I are doing the Epic to raise funds for Chaeli Campaign and specifically for this Learning Center. If anyone wants to assist, feel free to get in touch. We also have Argus entries available in the Charity group, should you have missed your entry. Details on our FB page, www.facebook.com/ChaeliCapeEpic
  10. Next Sunday buddy, next Sunday
  11. Sunny and dry conditions predicted 30 degrees with a very High UV factor of 9 60km starting at 8:00am, riiiiiiiiiiight?
  12. Jy sal moet bont staan om n beter tyre as n Gatorskin te kry!
  13. LT stands for Long Travel 140mm on the front and 135mm on the rear The geometry on the LT bike is slightly more relaxed to accommodate the long travel fork
  14. Thanks pgp, just in time for a nice from me to me Christmas present!
  15. I am seriously considering the long route, not doing DC due to injury. If the middle to backmarkers on the long starting at 8:00, ave 15km/h that means finishing medium to well done at 12:00. Anyone finishing later than that will be well-done to charcoal! Poor sods! Non the less, looking forward to a good day on the bike with LaVie! HTFU ... I suppose
  16. Do you oaks up country know how hot it gets in Paarl this time of the year? Starting the 60km at 8:00 and the 30km at 10:00? Sjeees ... bring your suntan lotion and umbrellas!!
  17. No that does not happen often. Because the Elite ladies have started with mens groups previously. They have started with SubVets, Vets, Masters and I really dont want to open that can of worms again. It is best for all that they start in their own group and race their own race. Not sure if you know exactly how the ladies race but it is a lot different from the men. Not aggressive but defensive, attack are very few and very far between. Everyone sits around keeping an eye on each other. If you dont take a turn at the front to keep the mudane pase going, the claws come out. If non-elite ladies can suck wheel faster than a bunch of elite ladies can race .... something's not right?
  18. Interesting The Elite Ladies started in their own bunch if I am correct. But they rode their normal defensive type race and some ladies in A bunch posted faster times than they did!
  19. Looks to be more than one crash. Photos from Capcha Photography: this one looks earlier in the race:
  20. Why dont they just take out the single track? These mtb races for the masses are on open farm gravel roads these days anyways.
  21. SportTracks remains my favorite. So much you can do, so much you can track and so many plug-ins available, it will keep you going for years. I have over 7 years of data in the program now, nice to compare. Compare routes, fitness, riding hours, HR, etc. Kicks ass! www.zonefivesoftware.com
  22. Shot buddy! That was just awesome from you to cycle through to collect our numbers. Much appreciated!
  23. You can cycle to George on the old George road past George Airport no problem. Its only 45km from Mosselbay, with a lekker climb going out of Grootbrak. Have your swim in VA in George and cycle back! I also like the road out to Herbertsdale, the short section on the N2 is crap but thats only until you get to PetroSA. Ifbyou go early its not bad at all. Then there are almost no cars on that stretch, some friendly farmers might actually stop and get out to greet you! There us also the road out to Oudshoorn but I turn around at Eight bells where the yellow shoulder disapears and the road becomes to narrow for my holiday-mode liking! There are also a group leaving from Jonny Koen Cycles around 5:30 if I remember correctly. Edit: Actually George must be much closer than 45km, I remember cycling there in just over an hour from Mbay
  24. So is your boss going to let you go cycling for 2 hours to go pick up a piece of paper in the middle of your work shift, smartie pants? (unless you are now a bicycle delivery boy, that would be in order I guess!)
  25. Before of after spelling lessons?
