  1. Haha that's sweet man! Wish one of the joburgh guys had something like this!
  2. Let's hope the bastards get out away for as long as possible. I still can't believe rape doesn't get life... That's what they take from the victims.
  3. Because we are like any participants in any other sport in existence. We do what the pros do because it makes us think that if we do it, we may just be able to perform like they do. Why do golfers spend 6k on a driver? Cause they think they'll drive it like tiger! Why do you spend 18k on a top of the line carbon frame? Cause you can. But actually cause you think it'll make you a better performer. Pros ride more than anyone. So its sometimes safe to assume they've tried everything there is, and found their kit the most effective. Maybe?
  4. I ride from 7-8ish and on the road, I didn't want to be too bright! I hate it when a cyclists light blinds me while I'm driving! I use a serfas 500 lumen front light, with the coolest serfas led rear light. The rear is REALLY bright, the front is perfect for being visible and avoiding obstacles. So going on that, 1200 should be enough, but this isn't ROAD experience... Don't know about off road, but I'm sure everyone will say the brighter the better!
  5. Mercury? It's been so long...
  6. As far as I understand, once the wheel is built the tension on the the spokes is what keeps the rim true. All you're going to do while truing, is to adjust the tension by turning the nipple of the out of tension spoke. II can't really see how this will have to change for the drive/non drive side for the rear. Although I may be completely wrong.
  7. II like that thinking... I see what you're saying...
  8. Ok! Sounds cool man! Read the reviews and most guys said they could feel that it wasn't as stiff as usual. True? Either way, niiiiiice looking bike man! Congrats!
  9. How much do you travel to justify a deconstructable bike? No menace, just a curious question?
  10. Your LBS is ripping you off. All the shops around me charge 60 a wheel. But to answer your question, it is possible, although it'll take a lot of practice. There is loads on Google for it, so that's the best place to start. Good luck man!
  11. So I almost got my head ripped off by some cycling nut when I asked to see his shops range of road seats. Hence the question. Anyone with an intelligent answer? Smart ass answers are welcome too. Haha smart ass... See what I did there?
  12. What are the dates for Le tour? Looking forward to this one!
  13. http://m.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DcSPXp47enGY&h=cAQG0A3p5&enc=AZMDqbxsA43HZPIBVNBZmSaONxhYQzfaWbxQKMmn1tHjY4WE_t-Nqehhd3rTxTxCYZn2suJ1MojmZ-_2l36BCrlr5so3m-3_WsbVGs-3ggTIQwF3M1-Kvy4c5XS75rG1a53E7gh70_My-RM7nf0Ptgp0&s=1 This is in the UK too.. Man I can't believe the logic some people have...
  14. I think it's not so smart. I see the positives in the argument, but unfortunately it is illegal. If you want to be treated like a vehicle on the road, abide the roads laws. Yes, it's dangerous, but there have been studies conducted where they found traffic to ride closer to riders on the wrong side. It becomes a driver "assumption" that the situation is less dangerous as you can see each other, therefore they are less likely to give you the space you require. Of course, intersections are a nightmare as well! Not only this, but all cyclists need to actively make vehicles SEE them by being on the road. The more we try to cater for bad driving, the more prevalent it will become. My 15 cents
  15. You're missing the point. By no means is this ok. But honesty should be applauded, not picked apart by spectators. You're not helping with those comments. Instead, you're trying to make him feel worse than is necessary. Either take his apology or don't.
  16. That's a sh*tty comment man... The guy messed up and he's admitted to it and willing accepts punishment. What were you hoping to achieve with that? He messed up and you're going to alienate him? Hopefully you don't get caught doing something wrong and have people like you around...
  17. Barry, well done brother. It takes a big man to own up and you've proven that their are still decent ones on this forum. Although the thread has proven there are a lot of twats who are quick to judge and even quicker to make fools of themselves. Bro, you did the wrong thing and you're willing to take the punishment without acting like a little b*tch... Well done. We should all have learned a lot here... Hopefully some of us did. And keep riding bro. Who cares that you can't compete? There's always strava... And they can't do any testing
  18. I can't be the only one who doesn't take anything directed at me on the Internet seriously? I mean, hell, in one online game I learned more about my mothers sex life than I could ever want to know... But the truth is, it's the INTERNET! relax...
  19. Do I guess sleeping on it didn't work... Looking forward to this, it's Friday!
  20. Flipping idiot. It's that attitude that gets you killed. I wish all drivers had to spend a mandatory amount of hours commuting on a bike before they could drive . imagine the awareness that would create! It would even be possible! Takes you months to get a test booking, you can do it while you wait! You could have instructor led rides, boosting the industry. I could go on and on. So many positives. Unfortunately, it's going to be a war for a long long time.
  21. From the ones I've seen, they look quite nice... At least, nothing amazing, but looks like it'll get the job done! For what it's worth...
  22. Ok so I currently ride an alu scott road bike. Size is a virtual 56. TT is 545 ctc. Seattube is 560 ctt. I'm looking at a carbon frame with the sloping tt, but it's a medium. 534 tt and 540 Seattube. The reach on the scott feels a tad long, with a 110mm stem on there. But inseam feels good. Am I pushing my luck with the carbon size, or will it be ok with the seat post sticking out more and not cutting the fork down too much? I'm about 1,8m. Have longer legs and shorter torso, but only slightly. Please avoid comments on professional bike fit for now, have it planned once I have my frame as there isn't a perfect generic fit. Thanks!
