  1. Good spot in Fourways, Broadacres centre. Next door to Mellowvelo
  2. No ways. I paid full price on those. I have enjoyed them. Light and good grip. Enjoy.
  3. At 1.29......is the drummer wearing a pair of Santa Cruz socks?
  4. My new bike has a rear axle so perhaps I should upgrade to a trainer!
  5. I am surprised that I am the only chap that's posted rollers on this thread, I spend hours on them over summer here in KZN and ride outdoors on the winter! Does any one else use rollers out there.
  6. Planning on this one in 2018. Please keep the entry reasonable.
  7. Had the carbon 3 on order but cannot fit the 36. Changed order to carbon 2 so as to get the SRAM cassette which will give me the top end I want with a 34T. No stock until the new year. I see the prices have dropped as well, let's hope the new shipment has the same selling price.
  8. Thanks for the perspective Dale. It's a new Cannondale, it's going to be great.
  9. Thanks guys. I have decided to run a 34t oval with the shimano 11/46. I hope I warm to this bike as I am expecting not to like it. Strange I know, but I wanted a hardtail to replace my flash, Dificult to get so I reluctantly agreed to go the dual sus route, now I expect not to like the gearing as I wanted a 36 to run the shimano, but have to settle for the 34. I am going to run the shimano and if I don't like it I will have to convert to SRAM and run a 10/42 with a 34 oval. Sorry for the moan, just frustrating having to compromise.
  10. Guys I need some input please. My carbon 3 is standing at my LBS. I want a 36 chainring for it with the 11/46 that's on the bike. Apparently the oval chainring will not work on the bike due to frame clearance issues as the ring is to wide. Next is to source a 36 round with the cannondale direct mount, any ideas as we are coming up blank. Wolf tooth make a camo system but I have to order in from the states. My last option is to change to SRAM 10/42 and run a 34 chainring. Any ideas please?
  11. I love that climb. Start at cascades, up Montgomery dr through Hilton until the Bridge over the N2. Bit further and you drop into the grace college trails. Love that ride.
  12. Well now. I can run a 36 chainring and keep it all shimano. Thanks Dale
  13. Confused, on the Cannondale Website it lists the scalpel 3 as having RR snakeskin tyres and 11/42. I have one on order and was swapping the cassette for a SRAM 10/42 with a 34 chainring. Please confirm which is correct as this report says it has an 11/46 as standard.
  14. Flash point. Paul Adam. I did enjoy it, interesting and different.
  15. Well done guys. Good job all round.
  16. Has any one spent time on this bike. I am looking for some feedback from a rider who has ridden a stage for a while. I am looking to get one as my cannondale flash was stolen.
  17. Use paint stripper, apply stripper and cover with a plastic bin liner for a while. much easier process. As for MDF I have used sanding sealer, just check you can paint on top of it as I have only followed with a varnish.
  18. Reading this thread is quite inspiring. I want not for tools or space. I have built my collection over the years and now have wonderful tools. My table saw, band saw and edge jointer are The green Electra Beckum made in W Germany, kitty spindle molder, an industrial 15 inch planer, dewald radial arm saw, wood lathe as well. My sash clamps are all record. Vises are record. My dedicated mitre saw is an industrial Makita. I like Festool hand tools and I have managed to gather the router (love it) 3 different sanders and my cordless drill/ screwdriver, and lastly the jigsaw. Big compressor as well. My great grandfather was a cabinet maker and I have his work chest in the workshop. Have not really looked through it as old tools don't really appeal. Despite all my effort in getting my tools, I don't use them. My wife likes this furniture that looks rough and unfinished, gaps in the table top, doors that don't fit, smudged paint effects. I can't do it. Square and well finished are what I like to build. Any how I need to look on indescribables for some ideas and make something. Last thing I made was my reloading bench.
  19. That looks friendlier than the cascades course. I was humbled when I rode that a few weeks ago. Is that the case or is the camera flattening things out?
  20. Mordin is the bolt a special item. What about replacing bolt and bearing. With tapping, heating and clamping, perhaps cut your loss and replace the bolt whilst you have it all apart, re assemble with copperslip but I think you know that last bit.
  21. HI there. The race is the race with the other days more orientated to the experience. They listed top three as you pointed out, yet once the race began the news feed included top ten. Top three women and top three mixed. I think the organizers are spot on with sticking to top three overall in trail and adventure. In my opinion the only reason sponsored teams are riding the trail and adventure is because they know they won't place in the actual race.
  22. Fan in front. Aircon top left. I love my rollers. Video is trail seeker on Vimeo. Recommended.
