  1. Yip, very similar to my experience. Never felt the same after that.....
  2. I rode 94.7 on Anti-Biotics. (was on Day 5 of 7) From A Bee Sting that got infected the weekend before the race. I suffered from Higher than usual Heart Rate from the Start PEN. I played it by ear and see how it went and how far I could push... I was nowhere near my Best and just kept my heart rate below Zone 5 the entire Race. Also, I think bc I rode with Anti-Biotics, I went through a patch of fitness decrease in the weeks after. Felt terrible on the bike. I just felt something wasn't right esp with my heart rate. That's just my experience... I suggest REST mate...
  3. Hey Bud, Black & Blue Propel? If it was, it was me.... I remember you! Lekker ride man!
  4. I see that there was Vets categories: Open seeded go off in one BIG bunch according to the lady that was registering the numbers. Only about 350 registered riders so far! See you guys on Sunday!
  5. Me Three I was in the Blue/ Yellow Esmero Kit Nice to meet Y'all...
  6. Looks like a cool race. Will do late entry this Friday..
  7. Yip, Same for me. Started in B, those 7/8 guys disappeared over the Walkerville Drag, we then regrouped and pulled nicely along until the C bunch came hooning past! We then caught the Elite ladies who weren't very happy about us passing! Then they attacked to break us...LOL Bradley, one of the guys who was working Hard in the B Bunch, Orange kit, felt very badly as we hit the Gravel section, missed riding over him by centimeters with some other guys, than I saw him at the finish. Kudo's buddy.... Also, a very strong lady in the B bunch who was wearing a luminous Yellow Poncho fell badly on the last bridge before the zig-zag route through the local town. Hope she is OK! Finished with a 3:03 and really loved the race, the route, the organisation and overall vibe! Super M, Coke, Water and Ice-Cream with your medal was super awesome! Will support this race no matter what! B bunch was awesome & just missed the Sub 3...
  8. Thank you Buddy! (Blue Monster, Much Appreciated) All sorted... Thanks again Guys BL it is.....

Looking forward to this race this weekend.
  14. Good race all in all. Expected more riders in total but very few entered it seems. Awesome marshaling, nicely organised and great day of racing. Weather was good. Lots of cross winds but weathered the tough winds. Started in A, Shew, Pace was hectic. Got dropped on the main climb to the turn around. Picked up some fast guys on the way back. 4 of us from about the 70km till the end. Averaged close to 38-41kmh at times. Thanks guys for sharing the load/pace & getting us through. Finished on 3:03 Just missed my sub.. But Chuffed with 3:03 for a 110km race.
  15. Race Entered. 1st Time doing this race. Hectic Drag in the middle I see.

Exactly a year since I started Road Cycling. Was an awesome race, lekker fast & flat (If route is still the same) with a slight bump Those railway tracks are a tad trickey, but nice route. Looking forward to this.
  17. Sorry to hear! Wow, glad you still alive to tell the tale... Always meet at a Police Station or somewhere in Public...

Will definitely do this race, much preferred the 93kms of pain at the end! 104km now....Plus a seeding event...
  19. All I can say is EINA! My 1st Krem and it was lekker tough... Stage 3 After about 20kms, I was finished, Mind & Body wanted to give up...Cramps were getting the better of me... Just kept positive, trying to latch on to whoever passed me in the wilderness.. Managed to crawl to the Water-point (Hugenoot Tunnel which is Beautiful btw) between the 2 tunnels, finished a litre of COKE , whacked about 4 Bar-ones mini's and pulled myself over that last climb of PAIN... I finished, and I'm HAPPY! About the race: I think it was nicely organised, Breakfast was OK'ish and Lunch was GOOD! There were plenty of accidents esp in the Elite groups, saw some bad crashes..Stage 2 before the turnaround... A couple I met after Stage 1 on a Tandem fell in the tunnel and were ridden over, Hope you guys ok! Ambulances were flying up & down... Hope no serious injuries!
  20. That is a beautiful looking Bike!
  21. My First Start in the A Bunch as well with bmw1za. That START... Wow, managed to hold on and stuck with this bunch till about 45-50 km... Got picked up by the chasing bunch with a few strong riders. Latched & stayed until the end, awesome bunch to ride with. Lady in Pink..Kudo's Guy in Complete Cyclist kit with Pink Socks too... What a learning curve!! Potholes were scary tho..
  22. 1 day left! Hope the weather holds up! Starting in A Other Hubbers?
