  1. It takes a lot of effort to get an "Enduro" bike on the road. And once you do, it's *** to ride on the road. My opinion of course. Bikes tend to really work on one type of surface only. Tyre choice, Gearing, Fuel Range, Wind protection, etc. remember, the saddle on a KTM 525 is there for show really. One doesn't sit offroad that much, now go on the road and sit on that saddle with you knees bent behind your ears. Not fun.
  2. That is definitely the plan!!
  3. Wahoo Kickr for some Indoor Stress Relief.
  4. A mute point I suppose on a Single Speed thread. :-)
  5. A fun rider who's just said the most important thing is getting from A to B the fastest! LOL
  6. BigBen & Wyatt Earp. What you guys use? And what terrain you mostly riding?
  7. 2:1 on a 29'er for me is the midpoint. I mostly ride a 32:16/17/18 so with a 39 I would recommend something around 20 as DomP suggested.
  8. You would think that Garmin could at least add the ability to add laps to a ride in GarminConnect. The devices are ok but the data analysis is pathetic. IMO of course.
  9. Don't get distracted by the shiny equipment. There will always be parents trying to live their dreams through their kids. It never lasts, you cannot buy talent. I'm not saying every kid on a 100k bike doesn't work hard but most come crashing to earth pretty hard, then you find the bikes in the classifieds and the kid hates the sport, that's sad. Unfortunately there is no way to control it. In so many sports I have seen them come, factory looking and bling' ed out. Unfortunately I also saw them go.
  10. Commuting on our SA roads with only a back brake? You a brave man! :-)
  11. Look at the gearing on that thing!!! Need proppa guns to keep that thing spinning!
  12. I'm no expert. But if I look at the pic you posted I would say the frame looks a little small for you? Could be a contributing factor?
  13. Yes, he went over the bars on the last big drop-off. He looked hurt. Left wrist??
  14. With a 30 up front and that satellite dish sized granny, you must live next to some serious mountain!!
  15. Have a look at some of his other ads too! Everything urgent, product knowledge not there. R8k for a YZ85!! Make me cash offers.
  16. I'm a huge fan of CrossFit. Been doing it for just over a yet now. Love the variety, intensity. To be honest, I'm never going to be a professional cyclist so I don't really care if Crossfit costs me a few minutes. But I've never been stronger, more healthier and flexible in my life. Crossfit might not improve my seeding (maybe it has, who knows) but I know for sure it has added years onto my cycling future and that's more important to me. If you try CF, please use a proper box with more than level 1 certified coaches, you will be surprised at what they can teach you. Safely too. Remember, everyone is using the term Crossfit, doesn't mean its the real thing.
  17. Just finished my conversion. Thanks to Grant from Sprocket & Jack for all the advise and some beautiful Surley parts!! Plenty changes still to come. Front chainring, rigid fork etc.
