  1. Call Geco Cycles. Had my previous Fox steerer replaced. Steerer is like R150 or R200. 021-9823446
  2. Mmmm.... An Anthem was built around a 100mm fork, so 140 might be a bit steep.
  3. Not sure I agree with that though? I would think in dry conditions v-brakes will be more effective than disks due to the leverage on the center? The whole torque times distance thing? Disks is definately a better option for mtb as you invariably ride through mud or water which deteriorate v-brakes effectiveness substantiably. Also, if you damage a rim and have disk brakes, it does not affect your braking capability.
  4. All good info - but my question remains If I change from a 0deg stem to a 10deg stem, and adapt the stem length for reach, what other differences will I find in handling?
  5. Only for the same length of stem, so that is not my biggest concern. Centre of gravity more to the back means less ability in technical climbing, but better in going down... Any other impact?
  6. It is for a MTB if that makes a difference
  7. I am a bit confused about stem rise angles. I understand that you can set the reach with the stem, and then obviously you can change the rise without changing to reach by using different rise angles on the stem. But what does the rise actually impact? In other words, what will the handling difference be between a 0 degree and a 10 degree stem, or is it purely a comfort thing.
  8. I am 1.75 and on a medium - so that is fine - I did manage to move my seat forward a tad, but still not where I ought to be - will try turning it around and see what goes.
  9. My saddle is obviously as far back as it can go...
  10. I have a Joplin post - excellent device, but it has a 20mm setback, which places me too far backwards to be pedal efficiently (my knee is over the BB now) Now my question, can I turn it around and use it back-to-front?
  11. The Hope 3-bolt is also very highly acclaimed... Just to throw another spanner into the works
  12. Same concept as the RockShox, but maybe look at the Talas, you can change the travel with a dial on the air side.
  13. My eyes are quite sensitive to the sun and I have a pair of them - never had a complaint in direct sunshine. I think they work with the amount of UV, as they do not go as dark as I would like in a car for example, so won't recommend them as sunglasses, but HIGHLY recommend them as cycling glasses.

    Bar ends

Very true - that is another point that counts against ergo, they are not the lightest, not the cheapest for that matter. Buying KCNC bar ends does feel a little like buying something of far greater value though - the way it is packed you'd expect them to be R2k!

    Bar ends

+1 Only one in my opinion better is the Ergo grips - takes one or two rides to get the angles right, but very sweet after that!
  16. The bar should clear the box on your top tube, but there won't be space to fit the clip-on in. Unless you move that box a little?
  17. Yup the bar is still available. Thule makes one and Sportsmans sells the 'Buzz Rack' bar. Wernervdmerwe2009-12-31 04:22:03
  18. Only a 4-bolt rotor, so can't use any rotor, which is a slight concern. Taking those hubs with ZTR Flow rims lace with DT Swiss Comp spokes. Unless someone has a bad review or concern?

  20. Thinking of maybe getting a set of the above mentioned as I-9's are just to expensive at this point. Anyone had any experience with these?Wernervdmerwe2009-12-29 13:52:47
