  1. You can also swing past a hubber in your area with one to help you out? Where you situated?
  2. If it was fine and rubs after you have taken the wheel out, best bet is to tighten or loosen the QR to the same torque as before. If you have already losened the caliper, your easiest option is to fold a business card over the rotor where the pads meet, grab the lever and tigten then - the business card help space the caliper.
  3. Other option will be to remove the calipers, fold a business card over the rotor, put the calipers back, pull brake levers while tightning, if you pressed teh pads back, best tp pump the brakes a couple of times with the business card spacing the caliper before tightning. Works for me....
  4. That's what I thought as well... http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=40899
  5. Oh yes, and what is the diff between Hope Pro II and III ?
  6. I am running 240's at the moment on 4.2 and 4.3 rims' date=' would like to get something with through-axle and stronger. So rather than rebuild current rims, move them to my XC build and get something nice and strong for the AM trails. This is true - but I might be able to swing a deal
  7. It seems the vote is not in yet, many varied reviews on this. Hope vs I9 vs Chris King? Seems they all same quality, reliability, very similar engagement and same(ish) price range. Anyone have personal experience on these?
  8. Maybe I-9 hubs?
  9. Yikes! That is quite hard hey, we typically run 25 - 30?
  10. Had Crossmarks on my hardtail and dual-sus, necer had anything like that happen to me - maybe a manufacturing fault on that one?
  11. Sorry - did not clarify - it was the 40km at Eselfontein
  12. I am very excited about this - will wait for the markers though, as I am not the best with directions. Last time we did the 40km loop (following the markers we could see), and crammed it all ito 14km!
  13. Matchstix might still have brand new X-7's for R450 which is great, and you don't have to replace your front derrailleur, as the shimano FD will work with the SRAM shifters. For the X-0's check with CWC or even sportsdirect.co.za - very very cheap. Rotors will be compatible accross all disk brakes, so no prob there. The Avid's are very nice, but I prefer XT / XTR / Formula brakes - personal pref only, nothing wrong with the Juicy 5+Wernervdmerwe2009-11-22 08:22:56
  14. Sold 4 bikes over the hub and bought most of the components for them here as seperate transactions. I would do it again. Only had one problem with damaged and short supplied product, but that was from the hubber who had had some other complaints against him from other hubbers as well - so all in all a very pleasant experience.
  15. The Quartz unclips a LOT easier then Shimano, so great to start on. I went over to Shimano due to the fact that after you are used to cleats, you want something that does not unclip that easy. The Shimano ones you can set the tention of the spring, thereby setting how easy / difficult it is to unclip, but even on the low setting, the Quartz (which you can not set) unclips easier. (*Sameless plug* Still have the LOOK's if you interested /*Sameless plug*)
  16. @sammajoor - that'll be great, then at least I know it is going to a caring home! @Tjokkits & Splat - Unfortunately it's true, the Ibis is my favorite, the Trance and Santa Cruz runs high on sentimental value. @Ricky - It is a Fox Float 140, swapped between that one and a 2010 Rev to find the right one for the Ibis - turned out it is the Rev. Must just add the sticker set on the fork before it appears in the classifieds @mtbking - well spotted man - I have indeed bought it from Desmondalie for my wife
  17. O yeah - all but the Ibis and Trance had been acquired through hubbers, so some might recognize their bikes / frames - so you can see they are still being looked after
  18. My corner of the lounge... Now I don't know how this could be a point of contention in the house hold - surely this is art at it's best?! Had to take a last pic of the family together, the Canaan and GT will be going to Cycle Traders round Thursday - so I though a pic is in order - always a sad time when one leaves the fold! The Flowta is just visiting, but thought it ok to include him
  19. very very very nice!
  20. I had a Reba Race that I changed to 120, but I know the 2010 range they changed the internals a bit, so JB is right, best check with the guys who brings them in, might be Omnico, but not sure
  21. Get the local tracking number from the SAPO. (0860111502) If they can not help you, call customs on 021 5905712 / 5716 / 5713, scratch that, I see you are in Gauteng... Call SAPO and hopefully they can give you the Gauteng customs office (Leaving the Cpt numbers for reference for the local guys )
  22. Yeah - felt incomplete... Good to be back up!
  23. Congrats ML! Hope your old red steed will not feel too rejected! Nice bike - many happy miles!
  24. To switch you only really need to change rear mech and shifters. Your cassette, front mech, crank and chain will still be a-ok (depending on wear)
