  14. It's best to post a pic or two. Lot depends upon condition of frame and quality of other bits like bars and saddle and full extent of groupset, i.e. does it include 600 pedals, seat post
  15. Quick note for all the Johannesburg retro/classic track bike guys and girls. A few mates and I will be meeting at Hector Norris Park this Sunday from 12:30 onwards to ride a bit of track. All welcome. Bring your old track or fixed gear bike along, or you could try one or two of ours. Hope to see a few new and old faces. PM or call me if you need any further details.

  21. Hey guys and girls, keep an eye out for this one. No photos but I have messaged the hubber. https://www.bikehub.co.za/index.php?app=hubregistry&module=list&section=incident&incident=501
  22. 75l for male and 65l bag for females is adequate. Lots of outer pockets good for padkos, stove, mug, camera, bogroll, water bottle (1litre coke bottle cheapest). Boots important. Take a few cable ties and a roll of duct tape. My shoes just made the fish in June after a few hikes including Killi a few years ago. Enjoy, don't overtrain and remember most people will get blisters.
  23. That was some pot hole! Eurus wheels are super strong. My favourite training wheels.
  24. Nice ride HeyYou!
  25. Water isn't a major issue. FFS, Brooks saddle were made in the UK and would have gone out of business decades ago had a bit of moisture been a major issue! Turn your bike upside down and rub a good amount of Poofide or Dubbin into the underside of the leather. Don't polish it off. This will seal the rough leather and prevent water spray getting into the leather underside. The underside leather is rough and not polished. Your but will shine the leather on the topside into a very smooth surface.Lightly coat the saddle top with Poofide once a month if you ride often and every 6-8 weeks if you ride occasionally. Don't over "dubbin"as you will make the leather too soft and it will sag. After a wet ride dry the saddle with a cloth and allow it to dry naturally out of direct sunlight. Your saddle will last you years. I have some saddles from the 50's which are still going strong.
