  1. Measure the head tube and let me know. I may have one for you.
  2. Hi guys and girls I am selling a Bianchi Argentin X4 that's unfortunately too big for me. I would look at a swap for something equally rare or exotic. Here is the link https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/165479-very-rare-bianchi-argentin-x4/
  3. About R1,500 to R1,800
  4. Also check out the Bianchi threads on the bikeforums.net site. Care it is based in the US and they had slightly different imported bikes into the US. Bianchigirll is the expert and assisted me identify my Bianchi. http://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vintage/825962-official-bianchi-celeste-thread.html
  5. Check the frame against this example of 85 SL http://www.speedbicycles.ch/velo/344/bianchi_specialissima_sl_1985.html
  6. Agreed. Measure middle of crank axle to top of seat tube. Measure top tube from +-1cm from top of seat tube to middle of headset. This will give you a fairly accurate measurement. I use it with sloping top tube bikes too.
  7. Super cool! Love the blue paint work. Well done.
  8. Thank you Greg. The frame uses a very unique 23mm seat post with a flattened bit at the rear to accommodate the grub screw in the lug. The KAS Vitus bikes always seem to have had Turbo saddles. I found this NOS in CT and think the yellow stitching matched the yellow Vitus decal. The tyre tread has started to crack and I will need to replace with some new tubbies before taking it out on a far ride. Hopefully at the next retro ride (Evan?)
  9. Hi Dan Found this clip-on bottle cage holder. Yours free it if you want. It works well and can be secured with a cable tie.
  10. One of those bi-annual rides! +-1986 Vitus Carbone 3 in KAS team colors remittent of the Sean Kelly era. 53cm Vitus Carbone 3 frame, carbon tubes bonded into aluminium lugs. Dural 979 fork and stays. Pat. 1984 Campagnolo Super Record group set 7spd Suntour (sic) cassette on Record hubs. Rear Ambrosio Montreal and front Mavic 280 Gel rims. NOS Wolber Neo Pro tubbies. Cinelli 65 -42 bar and 90cm stem. White cloth tape, clear coated to save it getting dirty on first ride. NOS Selle Italia Turbo embroidered saddle. Total weight as seen 8.6kg (not bad for the age) Rides very well and likes to zip around corners and potholes due to the short wheelbase. Can't wait to take it to the hills. The bike is very quiet and apart from the hum of the rubber on the tar this KAS team bike doesn't make any sound. Still have to find a spare $40 to import some NOS hoods unless someone has a pair lying about gathering dust that they are willing to sell?
  11. Two rides on a cool bike once a year is worth more than a dozen rides a month on a so-so bike!
  12. That store room almost resembles a store room I once saw in the Eastern Cape!
  13. I am a buyer if anyone has one!!!! Here's hoping its my lucky day.
  14. I will check this afternoon and let you know. Found a larger 10spd cassette and also an old SRAM 8spd cassette
  15. What manufacturer and series you running?
  16. Seen in Alberton on Saturday morning, this Zeus 10spd. I managed to have a quick chat to the owner who informed me that he has had the bike since new in 1971. The frame was restored a while back and now sports a 700 wheelset. Original steel Cinelli bar and stem in polished, like chrome condition. The clip-in pedals are a new feature to simplify everyday riding. What a beauty, especially in such an immaculate condition. The picture is reproduced without owner's knowledge so sorry if I am out of line but there are some guys who would love to see this bike.
  17. Cool, I am in! How many weeks to do the 150km?
  18. Well done, very nice restoration.

  20. This is an amazing frame. The paint work is of such a very high quality with little chrome details around the lugs on the chain stays. Needs to be seen. Not many of these frames were produced and it will become a very collectable bike in the future.
  21. Saw this beauty in the week. New modern retro Bianchi Dolomitic steel frame. The paint work and chromed lugs are first class and the new 11spd Chorus suits the frame very well. Lucky owner, makes me extremely celeste with envy.
  22. Hi Guys & Girls I am looking to buy a Cinelli head badge like this but don't want to import if I don't have to. Willing to pay big time. Anyone have anything or know someone who does?
