  1. Can't wait for the tubular versions to be introduced.
  2. Yes, no problem. I have run them on Wolber GTA Gentleman hoops as in the pics and also on some Mavic open pros. Check your tyre clearance on the frame.
  3. Very nice if you can find replacement Mavic cassettes
  4. Francisco Moser Super Prestige (79-80?) set up for Eroica next year hence the "Sora RD" and ballon 32mm Conti's.
  5. Hope no offence caused to Stan and co but here is my observations. My wife, Olffie1, Eppie and I did the 140 in the first Eroica SA in 2016. It was lots of fun but a full days riding arriving back in Montagu at about 17:00. My gripe was that the route wasn't well marked (apparently signs were stolen) and some guys got lost. Distances between water points are far apart and due to the heat you need to carry enough water or fill up along the way. Back markers complained that volunteers had left stations because of the long wait after the faster riders had passed. Eppie and his brother were dehydrated after suffering some mechanical issues. Most of the food and drink stalls had already packed up by the time we finished and there wasn't anyone in the street welcoming riders home. This year a few mates went out of our way to get one the street to welcome the last few riders. I know they appreciated the cheer. This year we did the 90 and found the ride more enjoyable as the event seemed to cater for this sector of the riders better. Lots of food and drink including brandy. This leg has the most riders, many of them from the L e'Eroica organising party and friends. Again some guys got lost on the 140 this year with Eppie and one or two others doing another 30km? detour which made for an extremely long day. I would preferred to see the 140 riders set off an hour earlier at 07:00. For 2018 I will ride the 140km again! As Eddy said no pain, no gain. The more riders on this route will add to the fun.
  6. This is what I did. I have some very cool Shimano 600 drilled, non-aero brake levers which I have mounted on some St Etienne bars and stem which I wrapped with some nice cloth tape. Whenever I need a Eroica compliant ride I remove my aero stem/bars & levers and replace them with the 600 setup. I then swap them back afterwards saved me having to wrap new bar tape each time I change levers. You can get a spare stem, bar and non-aero brake levers super cheap, especially if they sans hoods. These are my Gran Sport levers I also swap around. PS, to answer your question. Some mid 80's levers could either be aero or non aero like the C Record, early Athena/Chorus levers. Check to see if your levers allow the cable being threaded from the top of the hood as well as through the body life the aero levers.
  7. Three main items needed for the bike to qualify as Eroica compliant (there are others): non-aero brake levers with cable/casing exposed (not under bar tape)down tube gear shifterstoe clips and strapsSee https://eroicasouthafrica.com/classic
  8. Cool Hansom Kamaalo! Yes, agree brake lever change. We will ride Basso Gap and F Moser! 140km again!

  11. Gummibear. Judging by that saddle height I would say the frame is a tad too big for you. Better send it my way. Besides, I have a nice C Record groupset for it
  12. I am having an emotional Friday evening after a crappy week at work and then scrolling through the L 'Eroica photographs from last weekend. Guess the glass of merlot is not helping....... http://www.eroicagaiole.com/photo-gallery?utm_source=Eroica.cc&utm_campaign=1fc6381628-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2017_10_04&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_8fe5a24a55-1fc6381628-35939909 Loved the photoshop of Luciano into a few pics.
  13. There, i fixed it for you!
  14. Haha! We are looking at relocation to Portugal or Malaga and considering the car options. Can't believe prices for cars! Further issue is that you have to have owned the car for two years in the country you coming from to qualify to bring it in. Initially I thought I would buy a car in the Netherlands or UK and bring that in. No wonder everyone drives such skedonks. Hope to find the secondhand Vespa market better option
  15. Every time I come back from the hardware I come back with DIY stuff which distracts me from building another bike
  16. Thank you One of our friends has an old Alpina MTB (extra small) that she may want to donate to Bomb. I am seeing her this evening and will let you know if it is still available.

  19. Looks like those Shamal's were specifically made for the Master, match the color scheme perfectly.
  20. That sums it up then!
  21. That De Rosa looks to be my size (54-55). If so please bubble wrap the frame immediately. I will send my courier to collect asap.
  22. Short socks and no helmets were cool and still are!
  23. Love the plain single color of the Puch. Beautifully restored! Big thumbs up. Tucked away in my bottom draw marked "never sell" is a Puch saddle bag and some tools. Always wanted to get a Puchstep thru.
  24. Haha! Full refund of purchase price if you find the saddle is not to your liking.
