How not to care for your saddle. Came off an old barn find.

Don't have a Brooks on my MTB (yet) but have this '57 Brooks Professional on my Colnago Master pista.

I am over the moon and can't wait until Eroica next month. ​I am a huge Brooks fan and one of my prized possessions is this 57 Brooks Professional saddle which had its tip circumcised. It now rests temporarily on my Colnago Master pista until I finish building my Peugeot PX10. Thank you Brooks and Eroica South Africa!

My wife and my bike for the 1st Eroica in South Africa. We can't wait, its going to be a weekend to remember seeing many friends from all over the country. My wife's Zini Reynolds 501 tubing with Shimano 600 groupset. Some old 6200 and newer tricolour parts. Brooks B17 in honey, for my honey! My Alpina Columbus SLX with Dura-Ace groupset. Various DA series from 1st gen levers and callipers and newer 8spd derailleurs. Unfortunately my old Brooks has seen better days and will not last the Eroica so I really, really need a new Brooks saddle please!

Help, I have a VGC (8/10) DA 7410 braze-on front derailleur and need a similar condition 28.6mm clamp-on. Anyone able to assist with swap. I could also swap for NOS 600 (6401) series clamp-on FD.

The cheapest tubby options are about R600 each plus another +-R60 to R100 for glue. Getting period look tubby will set you back at least R1,500 each! New rims +- R500 each and another R1,000 to have built up. Your spoke count will also determine whether you can actually find rims. 36 hole rims are scarce! Most of us buy older clincher wheels when we restore our bikes. Contact me as I may have a clincher wheel set to swap or sell you.

Two immediate problems. They are too long and are not white.

Looking at the seat lug and the way the seat stays are joined it may be a Daccordi? I am no expert though.

Climate, I love everything about your bike. It shows excellent taste from the frame angles which are special, DA groupo, Corsa tyres (big thumbs up), Rolls of course, Alter stem shows originality. Only thing out of line is the seatpin you need a nice titanium seatpin. Best bike I have seen for months.

There is no Master unless we see the pics!

Funnily enough, I am looking for a 26.8 for an old MTB sorta rebuild...and coming up short for now too! Oh, well, the fun is in the search, right?! Will keep my eyes open for both of us! As promised, here is some pics of the Kalloy 26.8 seatpost I have. Its a heat treated 4 - 1 - 0. 36cm from bottom to mid seat rails. 10cm max insert.

Nice build there so far Tumbleweed! Where did you go ride, HNP? Love to have joined you. Yep, 26.8's are evading me. Need two ATM. Building a small Zini for the missus for Eroica and only found a long 300mm plus black Kalloy. May be from an old MTB? Mmh, saddle?
